Last Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a new singer to our home - the wonderful Daisy Downham Singer 🎤

Daisy brought so much energy and joy, with residents and staff up on their feet dancing the afternoon away. Time flew by as everyone enjoyed themselves – an hour felt like minutes, but the smiles lasted all day long.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming Daisy back again soon 🫶

This morning our home was filled with the irresistible smell of freshly baked sweet treats 😍

Many of our residents got hands-on in creating delicious chocolate twists using puff pastry and rich chocolate spread 🤤 From cutting and spreading to shaping their creations, everyone played a part—and the results were amazing!

Not only did the aroma get our taste buds going, but the joy and sense of achievement from making their own treats gave a wonderful boost to confidence and self-esteem 💛

The beautiful weather brought us out into the garden today, where we soaked up the warmth of the sunshine on our skin. ☀...

🌼 We’re Hiring: Part-Time Activity & Wellbeing Coordinator 🌼

Do you believe laughter is the best medicine? Love a good singalong, quiz, or reminiscence session? You might be just who we’re looking for!

We’re on the hunt for a fun, compassionate, and creative individual with an open mind and heart to join our team in a dementia care home as a Part-Time Activity & Wellbeing Coordinator.

💛 What you’ll be doing:
• Bringing joy to our residents through engaging activities
• Organising games, music sessions, and themed events
• Encouraging social interaction and meaningful moments
• Making every day a little brighter (and maybe a bit sillier too!)

✨ What we’re looking for:
• A warm, patient, and positive personality
• Great organisation skills to plan and deliver activities and events smoothly
• The ability to think on your feet and mix things up if plans change
• Creativity and enthusiasm (bonus points if you love a good dance!)
• Experience in care is great—but not essential

⏰ Part-time hours – perfect for fitting around your life (includes every other weekend)
📍 Friendly, supportive care home environment

Ann was keen to get out and about this morning, so we made it happen!

We headed into town for a spot of retail therapy, enjoyed a lovely cream tea, and had a friendly chat with some of the locals. It was just what she needed.

🥞 Pancake Day 2026 🥞

Yesterday our home was lively and full of energy as we celebrated Pancake Day with freshly made pancakes and plenty of chatter and laughter. Choosing toppings caused some serious debate — lemon and sugar or chocolate and strawberry — and both were clearly winning choices.

It was a busy, fun-filled morning that brought everyone together and created lots of smiles 😀

Our wonderful couples enjoyed spending quality time together, sharing delicious food, a glass of bubbles, and plenty of smiles along the way. A beautiful day filled with love and connection.

🎉 Congratulations, Shaun! 🎉

We are delighted to celebrate Shaun, our amazing Maintenance Man, who has won the Rectory Recognition Award for January 🏆

Shaun constantly goes above and beyond in everything he does. His outstanding skill, knowledge, and reliability make a huge difference to our home every single day. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and he is always there when needed.

Not only is Shaun incredibly dependable, but he is also liked and appreciated by everyone — residents, families, and colleagues alike. We are so lucky to have him as part of our team.

Thank you, Shaun, for all your hard work and dedication. This award is very well deserved! 👏😊
