Today marks 3 years since we created The Football Sanctuary 🥳

I think we say it every year but to go from some weekends with just 4 people turning up to kick a ball about to having a well run set up with over 130 people registered and a regular 40 plus guys turning up each week who all have the same hard work ethic, supportive mentality and are the best fu***ng lads I’ve ever known, is an absolute dream come true to me personally.

We’ve saved lives together and we give each other an hour a week where all that matters is football and the boys.

We love you all and appreciate you even more! 🖤

Much like this season's Premier League title race, this one went to goal difference, with an unprecedented 4️⃣ teams tied for the lead. In the end the Black team prevailed with a superior goal difference, ahead of the Blue and Green teams who took the other podium spots. Reds just missing out after losing their final fixture, again reminiscent of this season's Premier League. 🔴⚪️

Some brilliant goals, super saves, and an extra congrats to the Blacks who also kept the most clean sheets, thereby each earning an extra 2 points per player on the overall leaderboard. 🧤

GW2 saw a LOT of goals, as well as extra points for those nominated by their peers as Defender of the Week.

Artur and David occupy 1st and 2nd respectively on both the Top Scorer and Overall leaderboards.

A goal flurry from Jake H last weekend propels him up to 3rd in the golden boot race, while Tom R is in bronze position overall.

It's FA Cup semi finals this weekend, but more importantly GW3 of TFS season 14 ⚽️🏆

39 goals across 9 games this gameweek, including Jake scoring 5 in a single game and still not being the top scorer on the day (Artur bagged 7). Reds masterminded a rout against Blacks on the final fixture to sn**ch this week's top spot. Whites took third place. The only unbeaten team finished 5th as the Greens drew all three games. And of course shoutout to Jon who nearly scored a Puskas contender while almost also uninstalling his spine with his overhead kick attempt.

Blacks take the victory on the first week of season 14, pipping Whites on goal difference! Greens take third after some good displays against Oranges and Reds. Lots of goals, including some at the wrong end 😬. Special shoutout to David F who bagged 8 goals today including 5 in a 12 goal thriller vs the Reds ⚽️

Season 14 of TFS comes with a bit of a twist...

As this is the season before the World Cup 🏆, we've come up with some different challenges for each gameweek in the lead up to us all adapting to U.S. timezones 🕐.

For the first week, those who receive MOTM awards will have their points DOUBLED ‼️

Thirteen seasons of TFS down, many more to go! Season 14 starts THIS SUNDAY 👀

Congratulation to KRIS who is our season 13 champion, with some brilliant contributions on and off the pitch, and a super shift on the scales too. 🏆

Speaking of scales, JON J is your biggest loser this season, with a remarkable 6.8% weight loss. Huge (well maybe not) from you! 📉

Finally, despite Pav's best efforts on the final day, WILL P is your season 13 golden boot winner, with a whopping 34 goals, and pipping the competition by just the one goal! ⚽️

Our organiser's player of the season goes to TOM R, an absolute gent on and off the pitch 👏 While putting in the work every week he's here, he's also brilliant for morale for everyone, always checking in with his fellow players and he's done us organisers plenty of favours which we greatly appreciate, thank you mate! Special mention too to JOSH M who has been instrumental to our 5-a-side power league venture, for which we too are grateful. 👊

Jon and Gav take silver 🥈and bronze 🥉 on the overall leaderboards, while a special mention to this season's bronze boot winner JAMIE, who departs for pastures new away from TFS. All the best for the future mate and we hope you'll make the occasional cameo appearance going forwards on Sunday mornings.
