Why Subconscious Work Matters..

Your brain is not actually seeing reality as it is, it is predicting reality based on what it already knows.

Every experience you've had, every belief you've absorbed and every emotional memory stored in your subconscious becomes a reference point. Your mind constantly asks:

'Have I seen this before?'

Then it fills in the gaps.

You're not reacting only to the present moment, you're often responding to echoes of the past projected onto the now.

Two people can walk into the same room and experience completely different realities because their subconscious filters are different. One feels safe, another feels threatened.

The external world didn't change, the internal lens did.

When you release old emotional imprints through deep subconscious work, meditation or hypnosis, you aren't just changing how you feel, you are updating the prediction system running your life.

Change the subconscious pattern and reality begins to look different, because your mind finally allows you to see what's possible.

My TOP tips for supporting Emotional Healing- (What has helped me)

🫂 Therapeutic Relationship- Find a therapist that ‘Just gets it’.

🌳 Nature- Getting out for a walk in nature as much as physically possible. Being in nature supports our nervous system, our neurochemistry, and our immune system. It also provides a cognitive reset. It feels like magic to me, so I like to call it that ✨

🗣️ Asking for help- Drawing on the strengths of others. You don’t have to do this alone.
Hyper-independence never served anyone.
(This was a particularly difficult one for me!..)

💃 Dance! Get into your body. Energetically, women typically store emotion in their pelvic bowl area (amongst other areas).
So shake those hips, and dance like no one’s watching!

💭 Emotion= Energy in motion, also known as Qi.

Every emotion naturally moves through three phases:

1️⃣ Activation - the emotion is triggered and Qi begins to move.
2️⃣ Expression - the emotion peaks and wants to be felt or released.
3️⃣ Resolution - Qi settles and the body returns to balance.

When this cycle is allowed to complete, the nervous system resets.

But when an emotion is interrupted, surpressed or frozen mid cycle, the energy doesn’t disappear.
It becomes stored in the body- often experienced later as tension, pain, anxiety or trauma.

✨ ‘The body remembers what the mind forgets.’

Hypnotherapy is an effective way to help the body complete what was once interrupted.

Have you ever reacted in a way that felt totally disproportionate to the event and later thought.. why did I react like that? (See post below)

Dr Gabor Mate suggests ‘When trauma gets triggered, you don’t act your age, you act the age that the wound was created.’

Your nervous system stores memories from your past, and it doesn’t care how old you are now or what you are doing, it just wants to protect you from being hurt again.

It’s not immaturity, it’s unhealed pain.

A ‘Crash’ is your nervous system’s response to a threat or perceived threat in your environment.

Fight, flight, freeze or fawn.

What you do when your nervous system is triggered, matters, and re-wires your response to expect safety, through neuroplasticity.

Note: As well as breaths/ grounding it might mean stamping, shaking or moving your body to allow the emotion to move though, depending on what response feels right at the time. By doing this we are working with the body, allowing it to trust that it will be met by us.
