🎉🎂 Double celebrations in the office! 🎂🎉

Yesterday we celebrated Stacie’s work anniversary and her birthday – two very good reasons to stop, smile, and say thank you.

Stacie is a fantastic Care Coordinator and a real cornerstone of our team. Her dedication, organisation, and genuine care for both clients and carers never goes unnoticed.

Christmas Eve fun in the Live in Care Office. Secret Santa, Christmas cheer and recognition for a year of hard work from our fabulous boss Pete and a thank you from our Registered Manager Fran for all the team's support. Can you guess who makes the afternoon cup of tea for everyone? Tracey loved her surprise gift from her colleague Niki and the humour was enjoyed by all.
We work everyday in care, sometimes a short reprieve for a little Live in Care Christmas laughter is needed.

The run up to Christmas can be exceptionally busy in the Live in Care head office. We do our utmost to support hospital discharges, existing clients, new clients, amazing care professionals, family members, and engage with other integrated care services (think hamster in a wheel). Whilst no two days are the same they are all rewarding and at the end of the day we go home feeling we have achieved something very rewarding. This morning we received this review from one of our dedicated care professionals and it completely made our week, let alone our day. Thank you Jenny, we do our utmost to get things right and to hear your genuine feedback has really made us feel worthwhile. We really appreciate you as a care professional and everything you do, we believe we are the lucky ones to have you in our team.

Birthdays are a special time and should always be celebrated. Lucy our wonderful carer engagement co-ordinator and accounts assistant, recently experienced her first Live in Care birthday celebration. If you have to work when you get a year older, then you should be spoilt. We hope you enjoyed your special day Lucy, thank you for everything you do.

At Live in Care we believe that life is for living and quality of life is important.
The office support team dressed up, got their dancing shoes on and let their hair down recently for an amazing Christmas party.
Thank you Pete for ensuring we all had an amazing time, we loved every minute. Sadly there were a couple of the team that couldn't be there and we did miss you.

Its the time of year when we always feel so very fortunate because we're lucky enough to improve people's lives every day and share their histories. That's the greatest gift of all.
Every day we're reminded of this, the visits the phone calls, the simple smile of gratitude and then you receive the most wonderful Christmas cards each day too. Yes, caring can be hard work, but it's also the most rewarding.

Keep loved ones safe this winter by joining our Dementia Safeguarding Scheme and accessing free safety devices to help protect people living with dementia.

People living with dementia can be especially vulnerable if they become lost, particularly during the colder, darker winter months. Leading academic research into our Dementia Safeguarding Scheme, and national studies, suggest that when someone with dementia goes missing in colder weather, the conditions can increase the risk of harm.

As part of the Avon and Somerset Dementia Safeguarding Scheme (Herbert Protocol), eligible residents can receive free assistance devices to help keep loved ones safe, including:

• Life360 Tile Bluetooth trackers that can be attached to keys, bags or clothing and linked to the Life360 app to help families see the last known location of the Tile if someone goes missing
• NFC assistance wristbands or tags that can be scanned by a smartphone to quickly access vital contact details

The scheme also lets people living with dementia, their next-of-kin, or carers, share important information - such as a recent picture, information about medication, key contact numbers and meaningful addresses. If that person is ever reported missing or needs assistance, officers can use this information straight away to help search the right places sooner - reducing delay and the risk of harm.

Our wonderful Care Team Lead Beth has been working relentlessly for the last 5 years to ensure our clients and carers are well supported. Behind the scenes, Beth ensures that referrals to multi-disciplinery teams are made, hospital discharges are safe, client reviews are completed and care plans are updated regularly. On top of that, there's carer support visits, numerous audits, client assessments, weekly welfare calls and support for our team of care coordinators, placement planner and Registered Manager. Thank you Beth for being our superstar.
