Next up, the bank holiday Monday Taunton Town Football Club charity football event which will see most of our players and their families coming along to support a great cause.

The buckets are back and ready to be repurposed for Monday's charity football day at Taunton Town FC

Firstly, A BIG THANK YOU to all the businesses who offer to have a bucket, we were overwhelmed by all the requests, it's very kind of you all and we are sorry we couldn't fulfill everyone who asked.

Secondly, A MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who puts something in, it's very generous of you, even more so in these difficult times. I can assure you that the contribution you made WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE to those poor children who have to visit the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Bristols Children's Hospital.

The contents have been counted and between the 15 businesses we did manage to get one out too we raised over £1100

The best £5 you will spend today people!!

✨Charity Raffle ✨

When I saw what these lads were doing and read the heartbreaking story behind it all, I felt I had to do something.

Meningitis is a devastating illness and can take hold frightfully fast. When my youngest boy was just two weeks old, he was rushed into hospital unwell. It turned out to be viral meningitis. Thankfully, he was able to fight it off but that week in hospital and waiting on tests and not knowing was one of the scariest times of our lives.
I honestly can’t begin to imagine the pain Nick and his family have gone through, and are still going through. I take my hat off to him and the lads for turning that pain into something positive.

Now, I’m no runner and I don’t have many talents, but I like to think carpentry might be one of them. So I want to do my bit in the only way I know how.
I’m going to raffle off a full day of my time to help someone complete a project at a fraction of the usual cost whether that’s hanging some new doors, replacing skirting boards and architraves in a few of your rooms, or something similar. Howdens Taunton have kindly agreed to contribute to some of the materials involved aswell.
I’d love to be able to do more for such an amazing and deserving cause, but as a new business I’m limited as to what I can do.

It’s £5.00 per entry, you can have as many entries as you like, closing date TBD and the raffle will take place shortly after that. Please transfer money to the following account referencing your full name to be entered into the draw. Once the draw closes all money will be transferred to the just giving page.

2 weeks today the team set off into the unknown

We know the start point ✅ Reading Train Station
We know the finish point ✅ Taunton Rugby Club
We know we have a little over 60 hours and 300k to cover.

The rest, well those are the questions that I ask myself? Are we fit enough? Are we mentally strong enough? Are we stupid? Are we ready? Who knows? But what i do know is we won't quit! We have the heart, the courage and the love of lots of people carrying us through this and that support is invaluable.

The past 5 months have taken their toll, from 3am runs, back to back marathons and a ultra just because we can have all helped gets up ready for this. Every step we have taken we have done with this in mind. But there is no turning back now- it's game time.

It's just one step in front of the other and if we keep putting our best foot forward we will do it!!

If we don't see you before we set off, we hope to see you at the "afters" details to follow in due course ❤️

This Bank Holiday it's game day! Tommy's Titan will take on Ramblers FC at the home of Taunton Town FC

We have lots planned for the day, from a youth game, competitions, and much more. Pop on down gates will open around 11:00 and we will wrap up proceedings by 16:30.

We would love the sun to make an appearance but a please t dry day will suffice

Another one of our own Aaron Cozens went up to London and took on the marathon the past weekend! Not only did he take it on but managed to complete it in under 3 hours 30 which is some going and a personal best for Aaron. We couldn't be more proud of you if we tried my boy. ❤️

Aaron was well supported by his Wife, daughter and 'in laws' with his wife's cousin in particular goading him at the half way stage with a cheeky message telling him to "run faster if you want to beat my PB' well Ben I'm afraid to say your no longer the quickest marathon runner in the family because that title is now well and truly Aaron's 👏 👏 👏

Aaron says it was hard work, he had a slight issue with nutrition and found himself in a bit of a "hole" come mile 15. But the thought of joining the lads of our epic adventure in a couple weeks and a caffeinated gel spurred him on to new found ground. That is the mental resilience we have been building when venturing out at 3am to go running on a Saturday morning so I'm glad the training has paid off 😉

Well done again mate, sorry we couldn't be there to cheer you on but you know we were always with you in spirit. Now rest up as you have the Snowdon half coming.
