Children’s Grief Awareness Week 🤍
At any given time, one in every 29 children is facing the death of a close family member – roughly one child in each school class in the country.
This week is Children’s Grief Awareness Week (18 - 24 November). The theme for this year is , building realistic hope with children about their loved one's diagnosis to help them navigate the present and future.
Children are being encouraged to create their own box. The box can be whatever they want it to be, from a cardboard box filled with memories, souvenirs and happy reminders to a digital playlist of songs or photo album on a tablet or phone. Anything that helps them see and remember the good memories, even when things get tough.
There is no set way to grief and we understand that everyone processes their grief differently so we want to make sure that we are there to support any children or adults whose loved ones we are caring for.
