Introducing: 1:1 Pilates x Strength Sessions
Launching this May at CORE by Laura

There’s a pattern I can’t ignore.

Clients coming in after picking up injuries in circuits or strength and conditioning classes — not because strength training is unsafe, but because there wasn’t the time, attention, or expertise to correct their form when it mattered.

At the same time, I’m hearing more and more:
“I want to start weight training, but I don’t know where to begin.”
“I’ve got weights at home… but I’m not confident using them properly."

This is exactly where these sessions come in.

Before founding CORE by Laura, I worked as a Personal Trainer with global organisations including Coca-Cola and Exxon Mobil. Strength training has always been a key part of my background — alongside my work in Pilates.

Now, I’m bringing the two together in a fully personalised 1:1 setting.

From May, I’ll be offering 1:1 Hybrid Pilates x Strength Training sessions — designed to help you build strength with clarity, confidence, and precision.

Each session combines:
• Pilates (mixed apparatus) to develop control, alignment, mobility, and deep core strength
• Weight training to teach safe, effective, and confident lifting with progressive overload

Because strength isn’t about rushing or lifting heavier for the sake of it — it’s built through quality movement and understanding your body well.

Pilates remains the foundation of everything I teach, underpinning strength training, sport, and everyday movement.

Hope you’ve had a restorative Easter break 🌸

Mat Pilates classes resume this week, and the studio is open again for 1:1 mixed apparatus sessions.

✨ 1:1 sessions are currently fully booked, with new availability opening soon. If you’d like to be added to the list, please do get in touch.

A small number of mat class spaces remain this month for anyone looking to join or return to their practice.

Restorative Pilates – a slower-paced class designed to help you release tension, move with ease, and reset after your day.

Each session blends mindful strength, stretching, mobility exercises, guided breathing, and relaxation. It focuses on common areas of tension such as the shoulders, hips, and back, while improving posture and overall movement.

Tuesdays & Thursdays | 5.45 – 6.45pm

A big thank you to all the wonderful women who joined me this morning for our Pilates for Women’s Aid event. 💜

It meant so much to come together — to move, relax, chat and raise funds for a life-saving charity — and to be reminded of the power of women supporting women. This cause is very close to my heart, making it a truly special morning.

In true Pilates class fashion, I was so engrossed in teaching (and enjoying a good natter and some homemade flapjack afterwards!) that I completely forgot to take any photos — so here’s one of me post-class instead.

To all the women who come to Pilates with me each week, thank you. The kindness, encouragement and friendship you share is what makes CORE by Laura such a special community

Here’s to lifting each other up and celebrating the strong, resilient women in our lives.

It’s about both activating individual muscles and coordinating them together to create controlled, effective movement. The details matter — precision can be the difference between truly engaging a muscle and missing it, and between progress and plateau.

I know many of you have found this week’s classes challenging, even as we’ve been going back to the fundamentals. Don’t be disheartened!

Pilates can feel tougher the more skilled you become – and that’s actually a great sign. As your body awareness grows, your movement patterns improve, and you start recruiting the right muscles more efficiently, exercises become more precise… and yes, more challenging!

With every class, you’re building strength where it counts and training your body to move smarter!
