Imbolc sits right between the winter solstice and the spring equinox at the subtle moment when winter loosens its grip and the first signs of life start pushing through.
It comes from ancient Gaelic tradition in Ireland, where it marked the beginning of spring and the lambing season. Candles were lit, homes cleansed, intentions set, and thanks given for making it through winter.
Traditionally, this day also honours St Brigid - keeper of the flame, protector of home, and gentle guardian of fresh starts.
Coming together with this full Snow Moon, Imbolc is the perfect moment for reflection and planning, especially if you’re building something new this year.
Here are 3 journal prompts to help you lean into this pivotal moment of the year.
1. What feels ready to thaw?
Where in your life or work do you sense the first small signs of movement or possibility?
2. What needs clearing before you grow?
Habits, commitments, projects, or thoughts that quietly drain your energy — what can you release?
3. If this next season went right… what would exist by spring?
Describe it in detail, as if it’s already happening.
