The UK’s new emergency alert system will send a loud siren, message, and vibration to every compatible phone even on silent. Survivors of abuse with hidden phones could be put at risk if the device is discovered.

You can opt out in your phone’s settings to protect your safety:
✅ iPhone: Search “Emergency Alerts” in settings → Turn off Severe & Emergency alerts

✅ Android: Search “Emergency Alerts” in settings → Turn off Severe & Emergency alerts (and other threat categories if listed)

I encourage clients to develop their awareness of what their bodies can tell them.

In particular with the effects of trauma, our bodies often know, store and communicate the ways we have been impacted by trauma more so than our minds.

Please share this with anybody you know who might be wondering about how to start the conversation with a new counsellor. It might just be the thing that gives them the confidence to make that call or send that email or message.

Do you like my logo? It's a Triskele - Here's what it means to some....

spirit, mind, and body;
mother, father, and child;
past, present, and future;
power, intellect, and love;
life, death, and rebirth;
creation, preservation, and destruction.

The Triskele - a Celtic symbol that has been used for thousands of years, often referred to as the “Triple Spiral.” The name stems from the Greek word “Triskeles,” which translates to “three legs.” Its origins can be traced back to the Neolithic period, where it was found in Ireland’s Newgrange, and is still visible there today.

I chose this symbol to represent my therapy business because I see all the elements the symbol represents emerge in some way or another in the work I do with clients. I also feel it connects me to my Celtic roots.

✨✨Make 💙BLUE MONDAY💙 a wellness day ✨✨

You may see lots of media in the coming days talking about “blue Monday”. The third Monday in January - said to be the most depressing day of the year.

Life can be hard. The festive period ending just a few weeks ago takes its toll on many of us…financially, physically and emotionally. This can leave us feeling vulnerable and under resourced.

Use this weekend to prepare yourself. No matter how lacking in energy or resource you feel, the following four steps are the most accessible ways for you to inject a little resilience into your system. The more you repeat them the more resilience will flow.

If you are struggling to cope alone…reach out. Here are some sources of support that you may want to tap into:

A trusted friend
A nurturing family member
Your significant other
A free helpline (SHOUT, Samaritans, Frank)
Your GP or self referral to nhs support
A counsellor or psychotherapist
