A few months back, while studying for my coaching qualification, I made this little vision board.

No big business plan. No polished strategy. Just quiet ideas that felt important 🌿

Dartmoor walks. Nature. Space to breathe. Rest. Support for wellbeing. Gentle ways to help people reconnect with themselves.

Looking at it now, I realise so many of those small ideas have slowly found their way into Ahmia — through reflexology, wellness walks, retreat days, walk-and-talk sessions and creating spaces that help people slow down and exhale.

It’s funny how the things we’re naturally drawn to often become the path we’re meant to follow.

A reminder that small beginnings still count ✨

The kind of quiet you didn’t know you needed 🌿

Not silence.
But birdsong layered over birdsong.
A distant cuckoo calling.
The soft rustle of the breeze through hawthorn.

This is the kind of “noise” your nervous system understands.

We spend so much of our time in alert mode — notifications, to-do lists, rushing from one thing to the next — that we forget what it feels like to be held by something slower.

Out here, your breathing changes without you trying.
Your shoulders drop without being told.
Your mind stops scanning for the next thing.

This is nervous system rebalance in its simplest form. No apps. No pressure. Just nature doing what it’s always done.

And the best bit?
It’s available to you more often than you think.

A quick nervous system reset you can actually do today (no candles required 🙃)

Next time you feel overwhelmed, try this:

👣 Put both feet flat on the ground🌬
Inhale for 4🌬
Exhale slowly for 6👀
Look around and name 3 things you can see

That’s it.

You’re telling your body: “I’m safe. You can soften now.”

It takes less than a minute… but it can completely shift how you feel.

I use this myself, and I share it with clients all the time because it’s simple and it works.
