Getting active does not have to mean pushing yourself. Gentle stretching can help you stay mobile and feel more comfortable, even from a chair or bed.

Try pointing and flexing your toes, lifting one leg at a time, or slowly straightening and bending your knees. A gentle stretch through the back while seated can also help ease stiffness.

Happy 3rd Birthday to the Okey Memory Café! 🎉

This week we were delighted to be part of the wonderful celebrations for Okey Memory Café’s 3rd birthday!

The café, organised by Community Links SW CIC, OCRA - Okehampton Community Recreation Association, and Home Instead Tavistock & Tamar Valley, has been bringing people together every Tuesday from 1pm–3pm at The Pavilion in the Park for the past three years, creating a warm and welcoming space for connection, support, resources and friendship.

It’s always a lovely afternoon with lots of activities from singing and dancing to crafts, quizzes and special guest speakers - and plenty of smiles.

If you haven’t joined in yet, please do come along — we’d love to see you there!

When families worry that a loved one is not eating well, they often focus on what is on the plate.

What gets overlooked is how much effort comes before that. Deciding what to eat, remembering what is needed and making choices in the shop can quietly start to feel like too much.
