Due to the relatively low number of cases of Covid-19 in our area compared to much of the rest of the UK, Cornwall has been designated Tier One from 2nd December.
Despite our best efforts, there are still a fair few cases being detected in the Bude area (although these are reducing each day), and Budehaven School has had to shut due to staff members needing to self-isolate.
So we still need to be careful because any major increase in infections could result in us being moved up to Tier 2 which is much more restrictive.
Here is a summary of the government rules for Cornwall:
🔸You must not socialise in groups larger than 6 people, indoors or outdoors, other than where a legal exemption applies. This is called the ‘rule of 6'
🔸Businesses and venues, including hairdressers and nail salons, can remain open in a COVID secure manner
🔸You should work from home if you can
🔸Schools and childcare facilities will remain open
🔸Pubs, restaurants and cafes selling food or drink for consumption on their premises are required to provide table service only and to stop taking orders after 10pm
🔸Takeaways can serve until 11pm
🔸 Public attendance at spectator sport and business events can resume inside and outside. Venues must enforce social distancing rules and limit to 50% capacity. Maximum number of attendees will be 4,000 people for outdoor events or 1,000 people for indoor events
🔸Churches and other places of worship remain open, but you must not attend or socialise in groups of more than 6 people while there
🔸Weddings and funerals can go ahead. 15 people can attend wedding ceremonies and receptions. 30 people can attend funeral ceremonies, with 15 being permitted at a wake.
🔸Organised outdoor sport, physical activity and exercise classes can continue if the rule of 6 is followed.
🔸Gyms and swimming pools are permitted to open
🔸Nightclubs must remain closed
