Finally after 15 Months of blood, sweat and nearly tears, we are there.
St Georges Methodist Church, an Iconic 1960’s building, has been renovated, remodelled and modernised, and is now ready to start a new chapter as Aston House.
With a 200 seat Service Hall, Reception Lounge, Meeting Room, Kitchen, Large Function Room, Toilets, Private Car Park and Outside Terrace we can offer our clients an alternative to a traditional Funeral Service whilst saving them a considerable amount of money.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their positive comments and encouragement, this helped enormously when we hit hurdles and at times doubted whether we had made the right decision.
We would also like to thank our neighbours for their patience whilst the renovations took place.
With community events and funeral services already booked we look forward to Aston House opening a new chapter in the 127 year history of L Tranter & Son.

A first for L Tranter & Son today.
We conducted the only funeral to have taken place at St Chads Mission Tin Church since its relocation to Blists Hill Victorian Town.
A wonderful and unique send off for a much loved lady.

September’s Update.
Hopefully the last but one as completion date is the end of October.
This month has seen good progress with the steel cladding fitted and resin coating and railings almost completed.

Many thanks to Kevin and the team at Lakeside Plant Centre for their advice and guidance with the planting at Aston House.
We are looking forward to seeing how the raised bed and hedges mature.

Our new fleet of 2025 Mercedes E Class Hearse & Limousines arrived in August and are settling in along side our pair of Bentley Flying Spurs.
Like the Bentleys, our Mercedes fleet have been built to our own specification and are finished in Bentley Onyx Black.
Our new fleets mark the end of a 50 year association with Daimler & Jaguar ceremonial vehicles which are sadly no longer available.

August Update.
Officially 1 year in and still plenty to do.
September should see the building finally come together with plenty of big jobs planned.

July’s update.
Still slow but all the big jobs now booked for the next 8 weeks that should see the project nearing completion.

Congratulations to the team at Telford Crematorium for hosting a fantastic open day on Saturday 2nd August.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the public to gain insight into the inner workings of our local Crematorium.
L Tranter & Son were honoured to be invited to take part, showcasing both our Classic and Modern Hearses.
Sharon, David & John were on hand to speak with visitors and answer questions about the role of The Funeral Director.
We’re grateful to have been involved in such an informative and well organised event.
