Learning to lipread helps you to feel less isolated when in a noisy environment. A little lipreading skill helps you to stay connected when listening is difficult. This particular problem is not isolated to people with hearing loss! People with perfectly good hearing would benefit from a little lipreading when the room is noisy and frenetic.

Hearing loss is on the rise and it is more common than you think. Loud sounds can damage your ears, leading to hearing loss or ringing in the ears (tinnitus).

Check out WHO’s tips to protect your hearing and care for your ears:

✅ Use assistive technology if recommended
