Well if this is what Thursday the 12th has on offer… 😅

Horse rug shredded to pieces… honestly looks like a horse’s placenta 🐴🙈

Followed by the washing machine emptied itself all over the floor 💦

Roll on Friday the 13th!

Maybe the plan is:
Survive Thursday 🤞🏽
Treat Friday the 13th as plot twist. 🙏🏾

Saying that most evidence suggests Friday 13th is just a psychological thing. People remember the bad things that happen on Friday the 13th and ignore all the normal or good things.

Statistically, it’s just another day.

Note to self, look for the positive things that happen. 🤞🏽

Are you superstitious? 🍀

International Women’s Day 2026 theme is ‘Give To Gain’

Spending time with women who are older, wiser, and inspiring is priceless.

The support, shared wisdom, and space to talk openly feels a lot like talking therapy. Nurturing our mental health and reminding us that when women support women, we all uplift each other.

I am not sitting here doing nothing.

I am sitting here restoring.

After a long day working yesterday, I’m taking time to restore, reflect, and refresh. Allowing myself space to reset and recharge.

Listening to the birds. Noticing the spring flowers beginning to bloom, the birds having a dip in the bath.

My breath as I inhale and exhale. Feeling my ribs my diaphragm expand, allowing my body to soften and settle.

Before I sit with my clients this evening, ready to listen deeply, hold space, and offer empathy and emotional support without judgment.

Rest isn’t laziness.
Rest is preparation.
Rest is part of showing up fully for others.

Your not doing nothing your restoring.

Under the grey clouds there are little signs of spring approaching. On my little walk into my office the garden is starting to show signs of new life.

Anxiety can feel like a heavy sky that just won’t lift. It tells us nothing will change. That this feeling is permanent.

But when we take a moment to look closer.

Small moments of calm. A steady breath. A supportive conversation.
Getting through something you thought you couldn’t.

These are your signs of spring.

Managing anxiety isn’t about forcing the sun to shine overnight.
It’s about noticing the tiny shifts.
The small evidence that you are coping.
The quiet proof that feelings move.

Even under grey clouds, change is happening. Allow yourself time to notice and adjust.

Change can happen!

Anxiety

Isn’t just about what’s happening.
It’s about what your mind is predicting.

“Something will go wrong.”
“I won’t cope.”
“They’ll judge me.”

What if the strategy isn’t to stop the thought…but to think about it differently?

Try this:
Notice the thought.
Say: “I’m having the thought that…”
Ask: “What else could be true?”

Shift from certainty to possibility.

“It might go badly…and it might go okay.”

A different perspective won’t remove anxiety completely but it can turn the volume down.

You are allowed to question the story your mind is telling you.

It’s just a thought, it doesn’t mean it’s true.

Drop me a message is you would like to change your way of thinking.

Do you want to change your relationship with anxiety?

Anxiety isn’t a flaw or a failure. It is a response your nervous system learned for a reason.
But when anxiety starts running the show, life can feel smaller, louder, and exhausting.

In counselling, I can help you:
• Understand what your anxiety is trying to protect you from
• Stop battling or fearing anxious thoughts and sensations
• Build a kinder, steadier relationship with your inner world
• Learn tools to feel more grounded, present, and in control
• Move toward the life you want, even when anxiety shows up

You don’t need to get rid of anxiety to feel better. You need to change how you relate to it.

If anxiety has been taking up too much space lately, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Feel free to get in touch to see how counselling could change your life.

My reads - Two books completed in January one fiction and one non-fiction.

The Let Them Theory feels very much like one of those “I should read this” books rather than a curl-up-and-sink-in read 😅 Useful, but a bit… dutiful.

Followed by ‘The Therapist’ a psychological thriller. Always fun to read about what other therapists get up to! 😳

Now I need to decide whether to read a non fiction or fiction book next??

This maybe a useful resource for some of you to consider.

Anxiety: Know the Signs

Anxiety can show up in many ways physically, emotionally, and behaviorally.

Here’s what to look out for:

Physical: Rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, muscle tension, dizziness, upset stomach.

Emotional: Excessive worry, irritability, restlessness, feeling “on edge”.

Behavioral: Avoiding situations, trouble sleeping, procrastination, seeking constant reassurance.

Remember: Not everyone experiences the same symptoms. If you are looking to change your conversation with anxiety.

I can offer you a safe place to do that.
