King Street

King Street Cafe, Community Cafe, Wellington Cafe, Advocacy services for adults with learning difficulties and people with mental health problems + Food Bank

Our Community Cafe provides probably the cheapest food in Telford without compromising on quality. We are conscious of how our community is hurting at present and its vulnerable people who are taking the biggest hit so we provide a base for two advocacy services. SIAS (Shropshire Independent Advocacy Scheme) helps people with mental health problems, T:01743 361702 and Taking Part advocates for tho

se with learning difficulties, T: 01952 597434. Workers from these two organisations are able to see people by appointment at the cafe. a separate room is used for this so that confidentiality is preserved. If you're living locally and have problems with your council services then Councillor Pat McCarthy holds surgeries ever Tuesday afternoon 2-4. We have tried to make the atmosphere as friendly and stimulation as we can: there is a board displaying notices and interesting articles, music, and an open poetry group reading every Wednesday 2-4.
