Here's Katherine – our brilliant optometrist!
Katherine has been part of the Duignan Phelps family for 18 years and brings over 20 years of experience as an optometrist.
She’s known for her gentle, thorough approach and her favourite part of the job?
💬 “Definitely the patients! I love getting to know everyone and helping them feel comfortable and cared for.”
When she’s not in the testing room, Katherine’s keeping busy on her smallholding, home to goats, sheep, and chickens! 🐐🐑🐔
She’s always on the go, even when she’s off the clock!
We’re lucky to have her and so are our patients.

Meet The Team!
Say hello to Ellen, the owner of Duignan Phelps Optometrists.
If there’s one person who knows this practice inside and out, it’s Ellen!
She first joined over 29 years ago on reception, before training as a dispensing optician – a role she’s proudly held for the past 20 years.
In 2006 she became a partner and by 2016, she’d taken the reins as owner of the practice.
💬 “The best part of the job is the people – both the team and our wonderful patients. It’s a genuinely lovely place to work.”
Outside of the practice, Ellen’s surrounded by a family of musicians – her husband is a drummer and her daughter sings and plays guitar. So at home, she treasures any peace and quiet she can get! 🎶😄
From warm welcomes to expert advice, Ellen leads the practice with care, experience and a true passion for community.
