Yoga offers numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being. It enhances flexibility, strength, balance, and cardiovascular health, while also promoting stress reduction, improved mood, and better sleep.

Times: 9.30am – 10.30am

We shouldn't need an awareness day to remind us how important it is to talk about our Mental Health but, if it encourages just 1 person, its worth it. You are never alone with what you are thinking or feeling, even though it can often feel that way. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable and speaking to a trusted friend or colleague could not only help you, but it could also help them to share. Today is a perfect day to do that.

Are you someone who makes and breaks New Years resolutions? It is this time in January when the majority have already been broken, so you are not alone. What I favour are 'New Day' resolutions. Taking 1 day at a time in order to make change is a lot more realistic and achievable. So, all is certainly not lost, just have a rethink and set a goal for tomorrow.

It is World Mental Health day today and we shouldn't need a reminder to check in with ourselves and our Mental Health, but life often takes over, so we do. Have that conversation with yourself today, how are you? What do you need? Then if you are doing OK, why not extend that question to a family member, friend or colleague

If you have ever been accused of being 'Selfish' for taking time for yourself, or for putting boundaries in place, consider this more healthier perspective:-

Self Love means 'I am going to love myself and not make it anyone else's job'.
Setting boundaries means 'I am going to get my own needs met and I am not going to expect others to do it for me'.

I think this is really powerful and challenges the negative connotations that the word 'Selfish' holds in modern society. It highlights the importance of looking after ourselves first and taking responsibility for our own wellbeing.

I would recommend the book that this was taken from, 'The Joy of Being Selfish' by Michelle Elman.
