We had a fantastic time celebrating St George’s Day at St George’s Park!

The day began with the wonderful JD Magic, getting everyone in the spirit with great entertainment and plenty of smiles. With the sun shining and music flowing, it was the perfect setting.

For lunch, we mixed things up with a delicious all-inclusive brunch—sausages, bacon, fried bread, hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, and finished off with beautiful trifle pots.

The celebrations continued into the afternoon with the amazing Rob Burton, bringing everyone back together for dancing and more fun.

A brilliant day enjoyed by all!

Out and about at St George’s Park.

We love making the most of our beautiful local surroundings, and this time we enjoyed a lovely trip to Middle Pool.

Sarah, Shaz and Pat had a wonderful time taking in the views, soaking up the sunshine, and chatting with local dog walkers who were also out enjoying the day.

A simple outing, but one filled with fresh air, great conversation and plenty of smiles.

Getting ready for St George’s Day at St George’s Park!

Today, Gladys and Frank lent a helping hand to Holly as we kicked off some extra St George’s Day crafts.

It’s one of our biggest events of the year, and every April we love getting stuck into more and more creative activities to build excitement for the fun-filled day ahead.

Celebration of Spring at St George’s Park.

We had a fantastic day celebrating spring at St George’s Park!

The day kicked off in style with JD Magic, who had everyone up on the dance floor and set the tone for a fun-filled celebration.

Residents then enjoyed some amazing food from our kitchen, along with a selection of delicious cakes kindly donated by a staff member’s family—thank you so much for your support!

In the afternoon, we spent time potting new plants for our summer house, making the most of the season and getting our outdoor spaces ready. It was also lovely to have students join us, adding to the wonderful atmosphere.

Yesterday we celebrated three special birthdays at St George’s Park!

A very happy birthday to our lovely residents Sarah and Susan, as well as our wonderful maintenance man, Chris!

The ladies enjoyed a lovely morning filled with tea, treats, and birthday celebrations, while Chris, despite still being hard at work, made time for some birthday cake — all while sporting a very funny hat for the day!

The three of them also shared a lovely moment exchanging cards together over tea and cake, making it a truly special celebration for everyone.

Congratulations to our lovely Nursing Assistant, Jan, who won the Easter raffle at St George’s Park!

The winning ticket was drawn by our resident Sarah, who was absolutely over the moon that it was Jan – especially as they are such good friends. A wonderful Easter moment shared between two very special people!

Every other month, all Rotherwood homes come together for our group-wide Wellness Isometric Training session – and this one had a lovely Easter twist.

Led by our Wellness Coach and Programme Lead, Jack, residents and staff across our homes joined in at the same time for a fun and engaging session, including gentle exercises and Easter-themed quiz questions.

After the session, everyone enjoyed homemade smoothies, fresh fruit, and juices – the perfect way to finish a feel-good morning.

We had a lovely visit from Eve at Kiddleydivey Shropshire, Mid Wales & Wolverhampton - Adults.

As always, she brought along her wonderful box of sensory items, musical instruments, hats, and scarves—there really was something for everyone, bringing plenty of fun to the dancefloor!

Gladys had a fantastic time dancing with her pom poms, Susan loved playing the tambourine, and Margaret enjoyed exploring the sensory items while we all sang and danced the afternoon away.

A joyful session full of music, movement, and smiles all around!

Easter weekend at St George’s Park was full of fun and laughter.

Residents got creative decorating wooden eggs for display and making fantastic Easter bonnets—our lovely care staff were more than happy to model them!

We also enjoyed a delicious selection of cakes, treats, and buffet food prepared by our wonderful kitchen team.

And on Sunday… we’re sure the Easter Bunny paid a visit and swapped our breakfast eggs for tasty milk chocolate ones!

A truly joyful weekend enjoyed by all.

Ladies Social Morning at St George’s Park 🧩

We had a lovely ladies social morning, filled with smiles, conversation, and a touch of teamwork.

A big thank you to Nicky’s family for kindly donating some dementia-friendly jigsaws to add to our collection—we couldn’t wait to get started!

Gladys and Ursula especially enjoyed the wheelbarrow puzzle, taking it in turns as they both loved it so much. It was wonderful to see everyone coming together and enjoying the activity.
