Let's Talk Verruccas...

Ive had alot of these little pests showing up on clients.
Zinc oxide tape is a non-invasive home treatment for verrucas (warts) that works by occlusion, trapping moisture to soften the hard skin, reduce pain, and trigger the immune system to fight the HPV virus, although results vary and it can take months, with daily changes and proper application (slightly larger than the wart, remove briefly to clean/dry) being key. It's a gentler alternative to duct tape (which can irritate skin) and offers a less painful first step before stronger treatments.

How it works

Occlusion: The tape blocks air and traps Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL), softening the wart's hard skin (corneocytes).

Immune Response: This maceration (softening/waterlogging) can change the skin environment, signaling your immune system to attack the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

Pain Relief: Softened skin reduces pressure and pain, making it more comfortable.

How to use it

Clean: Gently clean the area with surgical spirit (alcohol) if necessary.

Cut: Cut a piece of zinc oxide tape that is slightly larger (about 2mm) than the verruca.

Apply: Stick the tape firmly over the wart.

Change Daily: Remove the tape, clean the area, and apply a fresh piece daily, leaving it off for only a couple of minutes to reapply.

Be Patient: This can take weeks or months to work, as it relies on your immune system.

Important considerations

Not Duct Tape: Avoid industrial duct tape; zinc oxide tape is a proper medical tape designed for skin.

Check for Allergy: Don't use if you're allergic to zinc.

Not a Guarantee: While effective for many, it doesn't work for everyone.

Consult a Podiatrist: For persistent warts or if unsure, professional advice is best,

This is a good option for children instead of invasive over the counter remedies

MISSED APPOINTMENTS.

I had two people not show up for appointments yesterday, with no message or apologies. I do not want to have to take deposits but if this carries on I will need to.
Cancellation policy is in place.
48hrs you can move your appointment or cancle
24hrs before is half payment
On the day is full payment.
I am running a business and every missed appointment is money out of my pocket, not some massive corporate companies.

Hi My Name is Lisa, I am the owner and founder of Tootsie Foot Health Care, I am a qualified foot health care practitioner and love what I do, I can treat and pamper all feet including diabetics.

People often asked me what made me go in to doing peoples feet, well our feet are the part of our body that work the hardest and are the most neglected, I enjoy making someone feel better after they have been in my chair and enjoy seeing my regulars, as well as foot health I am trained in wax therapy, toe nail reconstruction and reflexology. I just enjoy looking after the most tired and neglected things on our body our feet.

I have been doing foot healthcare for 19 years and my main aim is to make sure that your feet are healthy once this aim in complete then I follow with a pamper and varnish to finish off (as we all need a little pampering to make our day)

Its is just me within my business as I like the personal touch that I give my clients and the friendships that we build.
