We’re going to be trialing ‘Heidi’ for helping capture our notes in session. Heidi Health is an AI powered transcript application that records sessions, capturing only the relevant information discussed regarding your dog and their health status, and generates notes based off this.

Any confidential information or discussions that aren’t relevant aren’t stored or transcripted, recording only what’s relevant.

We’re excited to give this a go and see how it helps provide better sessions going forward!

Dobby!!

This sweet boy came by this week for his first physiotherapy session 4 weeks post-hemilaminectomy. Dobby was referred to us by Rebecca Clark at Movement Referrals: Independent Veterinary Specialists following his diagnosis of an L4-5 intervertebral disc extrusion. This left Dobby unable to walk in his back legs.

4 weeks on he’s now ambulatory (able to walk) and doing incredibly well. The plan is to strengthen his back legs over the coming weeks and increase his proprioceptive awareness 🤗

We’re wishing Poppy the biggest, best of luck on her big day at Crufts this Sunday.

Poppy is a lovely flat-coated retriever, she’s full of beans and the most beautiful girl who gives the most intense kisses! She’s a regular physio patient and has been coming to help aid her movement, posture, and address any areas that may affect her performance in the ring.

Go smash it Popsicle! 🏆🫶🏻

Norby came by this week for a physiotherapy session and a check-over to proactively address any areas of concern from partaking in Canicross.

Maya was referred to us back in 2022 and has regularly had hydrotherapy and more so lately, physiotherapy sessions to help manage her bilateral (both sided) hip dysplasia.

Maya had a tough start to life but has since fell into a great pair of hands and is managed very well! She has a fear of strangers (especially men) so we’ve had to get to know each other slowly to be able to carry out physio sessions. She’s come a long way and tolerates so much more now than she ever did, i’m so proud of her!! She’s a real softie at heart and loves a good fuss when she asks for it! 🫶🏻

Betsy was in for her monthly physio session today, consisting of massage and LASER therapy to help with her patella troubles. She’s such a good girl and fell asleep for half the session today 🥹

Has your dog recently had a hemilaminectomy? (Spinal surgery).

If so, physiotherapy can really benefit their recovery. The aims of treatment can vary slightly but overall following strict rest protocols, adequate pain relief and gentle physiotherapy in the acute phase can really help. 🐶

This week we signed Dixie off from hydrotherapy 🎓

Dixie had an accident at the end of last year resulting her becoming paraparetic (neurological limb weakness) in her back legs. We had a 6 week course of physio, and mainly hydrotherapy, to which she has improved greatly from. She’s now back to going out for her regular walks and tackling life as she did pre-injury 🫶🏻

⚠️ Warning, cute dog alert!

Kleo was referred to us after having recent spinal surgery after an intervertebral disc in her spine extruded disc material, leaving her unable to use her back legs. Following surgery, we’re now on the road to recovery with intense physiotherapy!

She’s a very sweet girl!! 🐶

Daisy being an expert in showing everyone how using a wobble board is done 👏🏻This isometric exercise really helps work her hindlimb muscles, particularly her lateral muscles (on the outside of the leg), alongside her core muscles to withstand the movement and help keep her trunk stable!

I got sent this video over the Christmas period of Kudi finally being able to head out for a short run with her owner 👏🏻

Kudi got involved in an injury with her owners horse leading to moderate joint and soft tissue discomfort and lameness in her back leg. 14 months later after regular physio and hydrotherapy, she’s back to running again! This makes me super happy.. Go Kudi 🥹
