One of the ways you can support ABT is by donating much-needed items. We’re always grateful for any donation, big or small, and would particularly appreciate:

🎨 Art supplies
🍽️ Cooking utensils
🖊️ Office supplies
🛁 Toiletries

We promise they will be put to good use!

Our classrooms are set to look better than ever thanks to a grant of £1,000 from The Rowlands Trust towards kitting them out with furniture!

Thank you so much to the Trust for your support.

There’s a lot of houses on that image, right? 120 to be exact! That’s because ABT has 120 properties available for those who need support, whether through addiction, mental health, homelessness or domestic abuse. 🏘️

And we’ve got exciting plans to grow that number over the coming years, ensuring we can help even more people in the future!

We love this quote from Martin about his ABT journey. And what makes it even more special is that back in 2014, Martin was an ABT client, undertaking therapy to overcome his addiction. A year later, he started volunteering with us. And now? He’s our Chief Operating Officer.

It’s a success story that we will never get tired of celebrating, and one we know our current clients can take so much inspiration from.

Training volunteers is a crucial element of what we do – so we’re delighted to have been given a grant from The William A Cadbury Charitable Trust to help the A Better Tomorrow Charity do exactly that.

Thank you, this will make such a big impact for us!

A huge thank you to Shropshire Community Foundation’s Acorn Fund for their contribution to our Let’s Go Fishing project, which will see 40 people going fishing for ten weeks. 🎣

This activity will be hugely beneficial for everyone who takes part, boosting their wellbeing and giving them an opportunity to socialise with others who have similar interests!

Today marks the start of Loneliness Awareness Week. Whilst most of us have experienced feeling alone, the kind of impact that sustained loneliness can have – perhaps as a result of homelessness, addiction, mental health or domestic abuse – cannot be underestimated.

There can be severe and life-shortening consequences due to the physical and emotional effects of loneliness. And that’s why the theme of this year’s awareness week: ‘meeting loneliness together’ is so important. As a society we must do more to recognise the impact and reduce the effects of loneliness.

Early intervention is crucial in addressing homelessness.

And it’s also vital to address underlying issues like:
➡️ Poverty
➡️ Mental health problems
➡️ Substance abuse

That’s why our early intervention service not only offers housing for homeless people, but we also help empower them to build stable lives – assisting them with setting up benefits, registering with a local doctor and dentist, and other tasks that are difficult to do without a fixed address.
