The ranking recognises 1,000 organisations worldwide for outstanding performance across three areas: employee satisfaction, revenue growth and sustainability transparency.

Last week, on 8-9 October 2025, Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) had the pleasure of welcoming Tata Chemicals to its Telford site for a Shingo Discover Excellence Workshop, hosted by Chris Merriman of Manufacturers Network.

Over two inspiring days, the teams came together to dive deep into the Shingo Model™, exploring how principles, systems, and behaviours align to create a culture of sustainable operational excellence.

Delivered here at RPL, the workshop blended expert-led learning with hands-on Gemba insights – sparking fantastic conversations, shared reflections, and fresh perspectives on what true operational excellence looks like in action.

RPL's Transformation and Engagement Manager, Charlotte Dickerson, reflected on the day, saying: "We were proud to host the Manufacturers Network as they welcomed Tata Chemicals for a Shingo Discover Excellence visit — a powerful opportunity to explore principles of operational excellence in action.

"A special thank you to Tata Chemicals for joining us at the Gemba. Your insights, reflections, and generous feedback ‘gifts’ will add real value to our improvement journey.

On 19 September 2025, Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) celebrated an incredible milestone – our 40th anniversary!

Hosted by Shropshire Festivals at the beautiful The Shropshire Golf Centre, it was a night to remember filled with laughter and pride in everything we’ve achieved together.

From our opening in 1985 to today, we’ve been at the heart of innovation and manufacturing, locally, nationally, and internationally, and we couldn’t have done it without our dedicated employees, customers, and partners.

Meet Mikio Ishibashi, who became Managing Director of Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) in July 2023. With a career spanning decades at RICOH Company Limited, including his role as President of Ricoh Technology, Mikio brings with him a wealth of experience in product design and leadership.

From Yokohama, Japan, Mikio’s passions go beyond business – he’s a lover of golf, Japanese chess (shogi), and cats.

His leadership philosophy? “One Team can be more creative than one genius.”

As part of our 'Irresistible Organisation' aspiration, Mikio's dedicated to building a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement growth.

Wishing the very best of luck to all taking part in the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Apprentice Automation Challenge final tomorrow, 25 September 2025, at the MTC - Manufacturing Technology Centre, Coventry.

Two talented teams from Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) will be taking part, and over the past six months, our apprentices have been designing, manufacturing, and programming innovative devices to automate everyday tasks:

➡️ Team Innovation
Kian Beasley, Josh Wynne, Harrison Felton, Zach Clarke, and Leon Nelson have created an innovative ‘Auto Bin Compactor’ (ABC) – a smart attachment for household bins that compacts waste and recycling.

➡️ Team Automation
Adam Briggs, George Chadwick, Lewis Heeley, Cameron Buick and Mike Litwin have developed an exciting ‘Auto-IV’ – a medical device designed to autonomously follow hospital patients carrying IV drips, removing the need to push or pull equipment.

By their own admission, “The IMechE challenge, now in its eleventh year, is designed to inspire the next generation of engineers, and is a showcase of creativity, teamwork, and technical skill, offering apprentices a chance to present their prototypes to senior engineers and industry leaders.”

Join us in wishing both teams – and our fellow participants – the very best as they demonstrate their engineering excellence on the national stage!

🏆 Social Contribution Award – Conquering Tough Challenges to Make a Difference

The Bronze Ricoh Way Award recognises our Irresistible Organisation strategy — a people-first approach that puts wellbeing at the heart of our culture.

For the Social Contribution Award, brothers, Tony Norton-Wilkes (Team Coordinator, Toner Operations) and Cory Norton-Wilkes (Team Leader, Toner Operations) were recognised for their courage, perseverance, and compassion – turning the personal tragedy of losing a close friend to mental health issues, into meaningful and charitable action.
