So Christmas Day, I did a thing!
I put my big girl knickers on, packed up Princess (my campervan) and drove to Freshwater West.
I met up with my friend Angela and her dogs and we had a fabulous walk along the beach. The weather was gorgeous - cold but gorgeous.
We then went to Dobby’s shrine (house elf in Harry Potter) and I left a pebble and a pair of socks - iykyk 😉🧦🧦
We had a cuppa and a mince pie in Princess - I love my whistling kettle - video below to make you smile too.
Then I drove off to Angle to sit by the beach there and made a beautiful picnic watching the beach and waves.
The sky was soooo blue, the sun so bright, but whoosh the wind was cold 🥶.
Still, a brisk walk blew away the funk and slump I’ve been experiencing.
Doing this on my own this year, my first Christmas alone for 27 years, I was determined to do something different, change the memories, start new traditions, release the old and embrace the new. Next year, I didn’t want to see photos of this year and be sad.
Like I always say, “we all have a choice”. A choice to be happy or a choice to be sad and yesterday, I wanted to choose a happy day.
I can honestly say, I had a BRILLIANT Christmas Day and I’m beyond proud of myself!!
I felt uplifted, empowered and exhilarated.
I was worried, I’d only experience “fake” happiness, but hand on heart, I felt genuine happiness, calmness and excitement for the future - MY future.
Where will I be next year? Who knows, but it will be special and happy and full of great memories.
I don’t think I’ll ever have a traditional Christmas ever again!! 🙀
Whatever you did on Christmas Day, I hope you had a beautiful day full of happiness and cheer.
