Life has been busy and I haven’t posted in so long but seen as there’s been such a stir in the horse world I thought I ought to take the time to make comment. This is by no means related to the lovely squishy snap shot photo here of my mornings work, being honoured to work and contribute to the happiness and comfort of such lovely horses.

The recent video release of Charlotte Dujardin has horrified so many people. Whilst sadly I think it’s naive to be under the impression harsh & barbaric training of this manor does not take place regularly behind closed doors it was a shock to so many that abuse (‘training’) of this manner was being undertaken by such a highly regarded person.

The entire world of our horses is in our hands & whether it’s for the hobby or competition owner/rider or professional we really must consider decisions we make are entirely our choice as an individual and one our horse cannot make input.

Many people have said it’s a bad time for Dressage & equestrianism.

Actually I disagree.

I would argue it’s a great time for our horses.

I’m so very sure the release of the barbaric ‘training’ in the video has opened the eyes to 1000’s of humans and will make them re consider the treatment of the beautiful sentient beings under their care. I can only hope the uncomfortable watching of this video will in fact path the changes, improved life & heard voices of so many equines.

As Mr Robin is aging inevitably he is has some bodily challenges. He has been getting itchy in the warm weather ☀️ My management choices didn’t quite cut it and he went to town itching on a post leaving him with very sore skin.

After rummaging in my cupboard of goodies I put together Aloe Gel with 3-5 drops of Roman Chamomile essential oil. I was virtually out of lavender so there was just a drop or two to add on the first application.

I offered Frankincense via inhalation

🙌🏼I’m pretty pleased with that progress!

* I’m always careful applying oils when there is strong sun but I apply in the morning, he is then indoors for a few hours. It is also in a place where the sun wont reach.
