Upton Mill have some very talented artists as we discovered this week.
Still life painting of sunflowers showed us exactly how good these ladies were. The paintings truly were really lifelike, pus it was a nice social activity to have a coffee and a chat.

Yesterday at Upton Mill Care Home, it was an extremely busy day for staff while we had a recruitment open day. Our staff as always pulled together and worked really hard. 💪

So as a thank you to recognise and appreciate them, we had lots of treats and snacks put in the staff room for them to enjoy. 🍫⭐

Ensuring our residents' well-being is a priority. 🧘‍♀️

Our fabulous activities team ensures that each week we have lots of things going on each day to meet not only the residents' physical well-being but also their mental well-being. So everything from hand massages with a manicure to adult colouring and jigsaws. 💚

Not forgetting our knit and natter group that meets weekly and seems to be growing in members each week - they have even taught Charlie to knit!🧶

Here at Upton Mill, we had the pleasure of welcoming a flute group from Bristol who very kindly offered to come along and entertain our residents on Saturday. 🪈☺️

Even in the heat, those who didn’t feel like watching the tennis had something alternative to come along too. I think they all really enjoyed it. 🫂☺️

Well, the weather is certainly saying it’s Wimbledon week, but it is far too hot to have a match outside, so the Upton Mill mixed doubles took place in an air-conditioned lounge. ☺️🛋️

Balloon tennis is another favourite activity, and everyone can join in, and it looks like everyone had a great time while still staying cool. ☺️

Monday was World Chocolate Day!🍫

So, as you know, at Upton Mill we love to recognise a “World” day, especially if it involves food.

Finally on Tuesday it was time to celebrate Patrick’s birthday.

He had already celebrated by having lunch with his family in our private dining room, so a stunning birthday cake was the perfect afternoon treat.

All staff sang “happy birthday” then he had already had a couple of birthday hugs before trying a small slice of cake with a cup of tea.
Thankyou to our chef for all of our amazingly delicious cakes that the residents thoroughly enjoyed.
