Really making an effort to connect people through the wellbeing and health benefits of the sauna and cold plunge experience can be tough going sometimes. Raising the awareness of these profound benefits is all about inviting people to at the least come and try it!
At Sonder, we believe wellbeing begins with connection — to yourself, to nature, and to others. That’s why we’ve created a space where you can experience the transformative power of the Sauna and cold plunge in a supportive, welcoming community overlooking incredible views of the natural landscape and stunning sunsets (all from the warmth of the sauna!).
We know it can feel daunting at first — especially if the idea of intense heat or icy water makes you want to run a mile. But time and again, people leave here glowing, saying things like:
“My migraines have disappeared.”
“I had the BEST night of sleep.”
“My inflammation has eased.”
“My ADHD symptoms were so much lighter.”
These are personal stories, but they echo what the science shows.
* Studies in Finland, where sauna is part of daily life, show that regular sauna use can cut the risk of fatal heart disease by around 50% (JAMA Internal Medicine in 2015)
* Heat activates heat shock proteins that repair cells, lower inflammation and support immunity (Rhonda P. Patrick (2016))
* The deep warmth calms the Autonomic nervous system, reducing stress and improving sleep quality (Journal of Psychosomatic Research)

I can only say that the combination is such a winner that I have (so far) not encountered any guest at Sonder who hasn't left feeling awesome and completely converted!!! Most importantly, what I hear the most is that the community feel of Sonder is by far the most rejuvenating and deeply connecting healing process and contributes to most of the feel-good factor that we are striving to build. I cannot profess to be an expert in any of these fields but I am learning constantly and feel very passionate about what we are trying to achieve which is better health, better connection to each other and the planet!

For this reason we will be offering one day a month where you can come, sauna, plunge and reset for just a donation!! Look out for these dates coming from November onwards and if you have any suggestions on how to build community around our lovely little space, I would love to hear from you!
