When you paint your studio green and it gives off ALL the calm vibes 🌿

Where’s your calm space in your house? I really recommend designating a corner, a room, a chair, to be your calm space. Somewhere you can go when you need some wind down time, to think, to read, to stare. Having a place to go gives you a safe space to relax, and indicates to your body that you can relax the shoulders before you even get there! Have a special candle, a favourite blanket and some reminders of happy moments. It’s so reviving for the mind and helps us to boost the good vibes and delete the bad 💚

Do you give yourself enough peace?

If you’re anything like me you’re stuck between wanting to make the absolute best of life and feeling like you always need to be seeing family/friends, going on adventures, keeping the kids busy, the list goes on, to wanting to close the curtains, turn off the phone and chill under a blanket for the whole day!

The problem is not many of us actually do the chilling. And even when we do, we’re still consuming information, noise, to do lists running around our head, and we’re not actually having that calm rest time for the body, and really importantly the mind.

For me that can lead to overwhelm, anxiety, stress and actually not being able to take the good stuff in and enjoy it.

With so much wellness talk these days, it can feel that that just adds yet more pressure 🤯 so please don’t let this be more noise that feels stressful. But instead a note to say, I feel it too, we all do. But if we can find that thing that helps, let’s grab it with both hands. Some things I try to do to feel calmer, and more balanced:

* Stop the rushing. Do we really need to charge around the house getting everything done, or can something just wait.
* Write it down. The thoughts racing around the head, the to do list, the rant. Whatever it is. Write it down, get it out. You’ll feel SO much better!
* Take a moment to breathe. I’m for 4, our for 6. Reset the nervous system a bit.
* Sit down. Have that cup of tea, in a seat, with no screens/guilt/noise. Enjoy the warmth on your hands and the moment to give yourself a big warm tea hug!

Ladies, let us celebrate 🥳

On International Women’s Day there are too many truly AMAZING women in my life to mention, but there’s one special lady who deserves a big shout out - my nana! At 98, she is still defying the odds and keeping us guessing, and after nearly losing her last week following a stroke, it feels like the perfect time to tell everyone what a special lady she is ❤️

Caring, principled and a true worrier about making sure everyone and everything was good in the world. The women who reused bags before it was a thing, knew the problem with food waste before many of us got there, and saw the beauty in the nature around us when we might have otherwise missed it, giving all who loves her a real love for flowers, trees, animals 🌼🌺🌳 (She is also quick to tell you when you when she doesn’t like your new hair cut or the dress you’ve got on but we’ll gloss over that 😜) To top her off, she gave me the best mum there is, instilling so many of her wonderful traits in her and then me. So here’s to my beautiful nana, my amazing mum and all the other fabulous women out there who are all truly special for just being who they are. Today ladies, let us celebrate you 😘

Sorry for being a little quiet on here just recently. We’ve had lots going on behind the scenes and needed to regroup a bit before we got back out there in the world. But we’re thrilled to be back and can’t wait to share all we’ve been working on soon!
It felt fitting to use this post to introduce myself to all our new followers, members, friends. I’m Rebecca, the founder of Nurture, a Pilates instructor, wellness coach and for my sins an accountant! I have two wonderful tweens 👧🏼👦🏻who keep me on my toes daily and a gorgeous pup 🐾who gives the BEST cuddles!
