Do you give yourself enough peace?
If you’re anything like me you’re stuck between wanting to make the absolute best of life and feeling like you always need to be seeing family/friends, going on adventures, keeping the kids busy, the list goes on, to wanting to close the curtains, turn off the phone and chill under a blanket for the whole day!
The problem is not many of us actually do the chilling. And even when we do, we’re still consuming information, noise, to do lists running around our head, and we’re not actually having that calm rest time for the body, and really importantly the mind.
For me that can lead to overwhelm, anxiety, stress and actually not being able to take the good stuff in and enjoy it.
With so much wellness talk these days, it can feel that that just adds yet more pressure 🤯 so please don’t let this be more noise that feels stressful. But instead a note to say, I feel it too, we all do. But if we can find that thing that helps, let’s grab it with both hands. Some things I try to do to feel calmer, and more balanced:
* Stop the rushing. Do we really need to charge around the house getting everything done, or can something just wait.
* Write it down. The thoughts racing around the head, the to do list, the rant. Whatever it is. Write it down, get it out. You’ll feel SO much better!
* Take a moment to breathe. I’m for 4, our for 6. Reset the nervous system a bit.
* Sit down. Have that cup of tea, in a seat, with no screens/guilt/noise. Enjoy the warmth on your hands and the moment to give yourself a big warm tea hug!
