These are some of the Pilates tools I included today in my sessions. I always enjoy adding in equipment to add resistance, help encourage core muscle engagement & strengthen muscles! 🏡

Pilates abdominal series- no need to even lift your head up! Scissors, one leg stretch & hip twist variations & adaptions to advance the session KEY POINTS: keep your ribs soft, maintain connection between your back & your mat, exhale to move your legs while engaging your internal ‘corset’. Reps x10 x 3 sets & progress as able. 🏡

Pilates Roll ups. A favourite of mine to teach in person but here’s a taster on line. Working on spinal mobility, core control & abdominals. VARIATIONS include arm raises, increasing the range of motion, leg raises & obliques! So much to work on in one series but full of potential

Short & effective kneeling series - all you need is a mat, hand weights (optional) & your core!
When moving from kneeling to high kneeling: remember to tuck your tailbone under, engage your glutes & soften your ribs down to turn on your core muscles. You can put additional padding under your knees if needed. Start with 10 reps of each, repeat the set x 3. Focus on core stability & engagement. Take your time.
🥰Warm up: shoulder rolls, arm raises & side bends.
1. Mini squats with arm raises +/- weights 2. Add toy soldier arms to challenge your core stability 3. Try diagonal arm raises +/- weights 4. Add shoulder press +/- weights while maintaining high kneeling, further challenge with mini tilts 🆒Cool down: child pose, side bends & cat camel stretches

Nothing like a weekend away with a friend to recharge, reset, relax & breathe! Recommend it to everyone. Bonus to see seals in the sea & really enjoyed a sauna sea plunge or 3!
