Befriendme officially started befriending in 2018 when a family friend was diagnosed with Dementia. The family didn't live locally and so weekly support proved difficult and unreliable.
With the need for sporadic hospital appointments and the desire of talking through the diagnosis face to face over a cup of tea, the family knew they needed a friendly face and someone who was closer and able to listen and support their Mother. And that's when befriendme started.
