What is PPG within NHS?

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of people who are patients of the surgery and want to help it work as well as it can for patients, doctors, and staff. The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG.

If you would like to be involved in the Thatcham Medical Practice PPG please see the link below.

HPV Vaccination Catch-Up Campaign

NHS England has launched a catch-up campaign for the HPV vaccine for people who did not receive it at school.

If you missed your HPV vaccination at age 12 or 13, you may still be eligible to receive it free on the NHS.

Who is eligible?

All girls aged up to 24 years (until their 25th birthday)

Boys born on or after 1 September 2006, up to their 25th birthday

The HPV catch-up programme gives students and young adults who were previously offered the vaccine another opportunity to receive protection against HPV-related cancers and diseases.

We will be contacting eligible patients over the next few weeks.

New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year for ambulance services across the country.

If you're out celebrating, we want you to have a fantastic night, but please enjoy the festivities safely.

If you’re drinking alcohol, make sure you have something to eat beforehand, stay hydrated with water or soft drinks, and plan your journey home. Don't end your night in the back of an ambulance!

Please save 999 for life-threatening emergencies. If it’s urgent, but not life-threatening, NHS 111 can help find the right care for you.

17/12/2025

From today (17 December) until 7am 22 December some services may be affected due to strike action by resident doctors.

Please continue to attend your GP appointments unless you are contacted and told otherwise.
