Aromatherapy - Want to know more?

We had a fantastic session yesterday with Sarah Bromham from Radiance Therapy. We learnt about essentials oils, what they are & how to use them at home. And we had great fun trying to identify a few with our noses! 👃(We enjoyed ourselves so much we forgot to take photos . . . again!🙄)

Check out the Radiance Therapy website for more information about aromatherapy & the other services, treatments & courses Sarah offers.

This was such a fun evening.
rdg invited me to speak about essential oils and how they could use them safely at home for self care.

What a lovely welcoming group, engaging, wanting to know more, and sharing their own experiences about oils.

They loved some of them , others not so sure 😂. We had some fabulous descriptions of how they made them feel and talked about the sense of smell at its connections with emotions.

It’s evenings like this when I remember why I trained in oils 30 years ago.

The sense of smell is one of the least talked about senses. Which is crazy to me, what we smell can indicate danger - smoke and fires, comfort and love - a new born baby, sickness - we have an instinctive understanding when we smell sickness, and that’s before we even get to the physical and emotional benefits of oils.

I shared 5 oils with them - bergamot, lavender, chamomile, frankincense and ylang ylang. Unsurprisingly the favourite was bergamot - great for lifting mood and ylang ylang the least liked - most said too sweet and reminded them of lilies.

(FYI - the seats were filled but for confidentiality I’m not showing who attended. )

As the Spring workshop approaches, I’m in final planning mode and considering what Spring truly brings.

Lightness, growth, space to listening your mind and body, allowing adjustments.

Not to become a new year, but to meet the new version of yourself.

As the season begins to emerge, a space to allow you to arrive fully in the moment.

On Saturday (14th) we will be looking at simple intentions to carry us through the season.

If you can’t make it on the day - here are some simple ones to consider for yourself.

only 10 days until my first workshop of 2026 🥰

As a holistic wellbeing therapist, supporting women through life changes, I recognised that when our cycles stops we loose an anchor that for years determind our ebb and (literally) flow.

Humans naturally love routine and cycles, and loosing this anchor can cause confusion, a feeling of loss and a push to a more masculine way of working.

As women this doesnt feel right, and we often struggle with the adjustment. Connecting with alternative cycles, such as seasonal cycles, connects us with nature and taps into our instinctive way of living.

The workshops are held in alignment with the seasonal cycles, a week before the change in season, to help you prepare and live in alignment.

On the day, I guide you through an opening meditation, we'll talk about cycles, their impact and how we can use them to enhance our lives, we'll gentle stretch ourselves into Spring and set an intention for the new season. Ending with a gorgeous, relaxing ground meditation you will experience 3 hours of invaluable time for yourself.

Location: Soul Barns, Mortimer
Date: Saturday 14th March 2-5pm
Tickets: £45 available here:

(Future workshop dates are:
Saturday 13th June
Saturday 12th September
Saturday 19th December)

When did you last stop?

Really stop and take time out for yourself.

We live in a world of constant stress, overload and feeling like we’re not quite reaching expectations. (That last one - a lot to unpick - whose expectations, where is this messaging coming from?)

When we’re stressed we physically feel on in our body - our heart races, we may get warm, even sweaty, we get headaches, muscle aches. Our emotions run wild - we experience more sadness, anxiety heightens, negative thoughts permeate our days. We get snappy and instant regret it, we become watchful over others, we avoid social contact. It’s horrible.

Which is why we need to include time out of the rat run, the spinning plates, the school runs, parental responsibilities, caring roles - because if we don’t insist on these time outs, everyone else thinks we’re coping and ‘fine’.

I bet you even tell them you’re ‘fine’.

Fine is not good.
Fine is a glossing over word.
Fine often means, I’m not ‘fine’ but things are so much right now I don’t have the energy to even start explaining to you.

Stop with the fine.

Start with connecting with yourself.

Come to my Spring Awakening Workshop on 14th March and stop, learn about a new way of navigating your stress, and when someone asks you how you are you won’t say ‘fine’, you’ll say ‘I’m good, and how are you’.

It’s always such an honour when someone asks me to speak at their event. A validation that as a sole business owner we rarely experience. When Laura at Total Body Wellbeing (https://www.instagram.com/totalbodywellbeing/ ) asked me to be her speaker at the launch of her MIB networking group, on the run into Women’s International Day, I was flattered.

Laura is an incredible business woman who helps other women in many different ways. The number of hats this lady possesses is nuts – her hat stand must be strong to carry so many of them 🤣. Every week she hosts Wellness Wednesdays – an online informal chat with many of us in the wellbeing industry, she hosts events, menopause mastery courses – and that’s just for starters. When she said she had taken on the relaunch of MIB Wokingham, I raised my eyebrows – superwoman is at it again!

When she then asked if I could be her speaker, I was surprised, as I said to her ‘why me, you know so many people?’. But she had heard me speak at a couple of events last year, we have a great connection and lots of synergy and she felt I would be a good fit for the event.

So there we are.

Next Friday – 6th March – at The Walters Arms, Wokingham, I am joining Laura to celebrate the launch of her networking group, with 20 women already booked in (more tickets are available).

I’ll be talking about cyclical living:

‘Flow not Force – a woman’s way to live and lead’,

with words from my 20 years of experience of working woman who are juggling life – work, family – too many open tabs – and struggling with energy.

If you’d like to join us on the day, tickets are available:

If you cant make it but have a group you think would love to hear this DM.

Or, get yourself booked on to my Spring workshop on 14th March. https://bit.ly/SpringWorkshopTickets

Complementary Health and Wellbeing

Maintaining good health and feeling well is one of the most important goals we all strive for. Sometimes life throws a spanner in the works and its a little harder than it should be, that’s where a complementary therapist comes in. Treatments can, on first impressions, feel like a indulgement for the privileged; even the word ‘’treatment’ is misleading as it implies they are a pampering session. Yes, a visit to Radiance should leave you feeling pampered, but it should also leave you feeling more in control, more balanced and with a greater sense of clarity about your health and wellbeing.
