Yin & Yang.. understanding and finding balance within.

☯️ Yin Yang is rooted in Chinese philosophy. Each element contains the seed of the other, is constantly changing and transforming, never static

☯️ Yin Yang harmony is essential for balancing the life energy within & around us

☯️Balancing Yin & Yang involves harmonising opposing energies - action (Yang) and stillness (Yin) helping us shift towards mental, physical and emotional stability

☯️In my new Yang to Yin Harmony class we will enjoy the best of both yoga worlds. Starting with more upright, energising, stronger standing sequences gently shifting towards longer held, floor based, static shapes.

☯️ Melting into relaxation to conclude.. absorbing the benefits of our practice and experiencing the balancing flow of energy, prana and breath within.

YANG TO YIN

I’m really happy to add this gorgeous studio to my weekly class schedule!

Why not come and join me on Mondays at 5:30pm for the best of both yoga worlds - balancing the Yin & Yang within.

This unique class will start with dynamic, moving & standing postures and wind down to static, floor based shapes held for longer finding stillness and sinking into relaxation

Suitable for beginners to yoga, you will be encouraged to work at your own pace, honouring your body shape and experience.

New Year Resolutions..?

🥱 I don’t know about you but I am pretty bored of the New Year, New You narrative already. We are in hibernation season, have most likely been eating more, moving less, not seeing as much daylight as we would like and that can make us feel lethargic, de-motivated and a mix of both restlessness and fatigue.

🚨We are sold the notion that this is THE time to give things up, make huge lifestyle changes and leap into action RIGHT NOW with often unrealistic goals that then inevitably fail.. making us feel rubbish again.

📝 As someone who loves self-reflection (sometimes to my own detriment 🫣) and planning I really like the following approach that I have seen a few of my favourite therapists/ psychologists suggest to try instead. Including whose newsletter is well worth signing up to.

🫡 Focus on your successes, what you enjoyed and want more of - rather than what you want to give up. Consider (make a note, journal fans!) the following:

🫶 Loved doing in 2025
🙌 Felt proud of in 2025
🙏 Hope to do in 2026

If that is tricky, start with one of each and then try 2, 3. Perhaps do this with a friend/loved one and share your successes. See how it feels to say them out loud.

🧠 By celebrating our successes and practicing self compassion and positive thinking we release feel good chemicals - dopamine (reward), serotonin (mood regulation), and oxytocin (bonding and trust). All supporting a sense of safety and calm and improving our overall sense of wellbeing.

🧠 Nuero -science tells us that visualising goals activates brain pathways that prepare the mind to notice opportunities and take action toward them - therefore increasing the likelihood of success.

So why not make this the year that you ditch the resolutions and try this instead.

NEW CLASS & NEW VENUE.. Starting 12th January

I am excited to add another offering to my schedule, in the gorgeous studio space

Come start your week with the best of both yoga worlds - balancing the Yin & Yang within. Whether you come straight from work, home or play then this unique class could be just what you need for body and mind.

We will start the class with energizing standing and flowing Yang yoga (hatha style) and make the transition down to soothing still Yin postures (longer held and static)..

Yoga isn’t like you see on instagram and there are many ways you can “practice”yoga without stepping onto a mat, or attending a class..

Sometimes yoga for me is…

✨ Sitting in my car, taking a few deep breaths before I go indoors

✨ Taking a walk outside and feeling the breeze on my face, or listening to the leaves underneath my feet

✨ Reading through the Sutras or Gita (again) and noticing how relevant they are to now

✨ Pausing before I react to situations (good or bad) and noticing where my body is responding, and how I can support that

✨ Standing on one leg whilst brushing my teeth

✨ Taking five breaths in a forward fold whilst waiting for the kettle to boil

✨ Listening to a guided relaxation, underneath a blanket on my lounge floor

✨Reflecting on my day and before making decisions to see if I am living my life true to my values and from a place of love

Other times I like a strong hatha or flowing vinyasa class. I also love Forrest yoga, I adore Yin and sometimes a gentle restorative session is the perfect way to unwind.

Whatever I need on a particular day, yoga is there for me in some way. I will be eternally grateful for that.

I would love to support you in finding your yoga, on and off the mat.

This is our last week of yoga until classes start again in January. Lots of opportunities to find some space in body and mind and feel calmer amongst the chaos.

Guided Relaxation

This is both a thank you from me and a fundraiser for

A special (FREE) pre-Christmas event where we will enjoy simple, gentle movement and an extended guided relaxation.

Designed to help ground you into your bodies, connect to the breath and enjoy some time away from to-do lists and responsibilities.

Open to anyone who has attended a class or event with me in 2025. I will give you the code in class or you are welcome to message me for it direct.

If you are able to, please bring a donation to Thetford Food Bank with you. If that’s not possible right now, please know you are still welcome to enjoy this opportunity to feel rested & relaxed.
