Why not venture away from the stresses of life and step in the enchanted woods at Thompson Hall Retreat. Follow the meandering drive across the fields and arrive into a beautiful wood full of mature beech, elm, oak and sweet chestnut trees. Park your car and follow the woodland path in search of one of the most glamorous shepherds huts your eyes will ever see, finished to a very high standard with a luxurious king size bed, combi oven, fridge and a beautiful shower. The shepherd’s huts face east to so you can capture the sun rise across the arable fields and the neighboring land owns and managed by the Norfolk wildlife trust. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature around you and this will soon help you relax and unwind. Open the doors and step onto the veranda with a luxury outdoor bath, dining area and outside kitchen all under the glow of LED lighting. We can delivery to your hut breakfast, lunch, or dinner hamper so you don't have to venture out various selection are available all with local produce. If you fancy a takeaway you can order pizza, Indian or Chinese and it will be delivered to your door. Wander around the back of you hut and follow a short path to an outside eating area where you can sit among the trees and watch the sun go down while toast marshmallows on your fire pit. Find your way back to your hut and settle down in front of the wood burner or sit out on the veranda under your patio heater or lounge in a hot bath and gaze at the stars. Thank you to all our amazing guests who visited us over Valentine’s weekend, we feel very privileged to have been fully booked and had a full restaurant as well as so many glowing reviews. Thank you to all that stayed with us and dined at the Foraged & Fire. 🔥
The seafood 🦞 platters & the meat platter were a great success and will be staying on our menu.

Next full moon 🌝 swim is March 1st. Come and join us and the water temperature 🤒 rises to around 8 degrees. Good time to start your yearly swims !!!

Cruz aged 25. We said goodbye to our biggest, bravest and kindest horse. He had a heart ❤️ like no other. People warmed to his kindness and children just needed to be in his presence. Cruz had been with us for 18 years and we have some amazing memories.
He leaves a great void in our yard and he will be sadly missed. He spent his days by the spa and in the pen near my massage pod so I will miss not having him near by. He always remind me of horses in books and he too now has his wings and will fly. We will all miss you. But we all loved you dearly. Sleep tight my special boy. See you on that rainbow 🌈 bridge some day where will be together again xx

Happy New Year to all !!!!
What a year 2025 has been.
We lost some great furry friends and gained some new ones.
We built a new restaurant and rolled a food truck.
We hosted 1000’s of guests and made new friends.
We hosted Wimhof events and Live & Loaded.
We worked hard to support our fellow farmers and small producers.
We look forward to 2026 with the a new food truck and a new kitchen for foraged and Fire. 🔥

We look forward to seeing you all again this year.
