Sowerby House Care Home We Care Group provides nursing, residential, dementia and respite care in over 30 specialist care homes throughout England.

Sowerby House is a stunning Edwardian property nestled in picturesque surroundings on the outskirts of Thirsk that has been transformed into a contemporary residential care home for older adults and those who require Residential or Dementia care. We’re a forward-thinking, innovative and highly experienced team that provides personalised care in a safe and supportive environment to our residents who live in our homes with dignity, choice and independence. With almost 20 years expertise in the older people's sector, our highly trained staff colleagues are experts in delivering award winning care. We develop our staff care colleagues to deliver high quality care and support, providing safe, secure and specialist care to residents so they can live fulfilling, rewarding and happy lives. Our ongoing investment programme means all our homes are well presented and maintained to help our residents feel at home. And we’re opening new homes over the coming years to bring our much-needed services to more locations.

📢🧶 Calling All Knitters & Crocheters – Help Us Create our best display yet for Remembrance Day ❤️

We are inviting residents, family members, staff and friends of Sowerby House to get involved in a special project to mark Remembrance Day this year.

We’re creating a handmade poppy display to honour and remember those who served and sacrificed, and we’d love your help in making knitted or crocheted poppies.

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just picking up your needles for the first time - every poppy will be a meaningful part of our tribute.

Here’s how you can help:

Knit or crochet as many poppies as you like – big or small!
Use red yarn for the petals and black for the centre (or black buttons work well too)

Drop them off at Sowerby House by Monday 3rd November.

🦊🐦‍⬛🦔 National Wildlife Day 🦔🐦‍⬛🦊

Today we celebrated National Wildlife Day. We began by having a look round the garden to see if we could spot any wildlife, Joan topped up the bird feeders before we set up a trail camera to discover what visitors come to our garden! We are excited to check the footage tomorrow!

We then put our knowledge to the test with a wildlife quiz and learnt some fun facts about hedgehogs.

We finished the day by crafting our own little clay hedgehogs. 🦔🌿🐦
