💗 We did it! 💗

Today, my friends and I completed the Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5K in support of cancer research.
It was a day filled with many emotions, a a few tears shed, laughter, teamwork, muddy obstacles, and a shared commitment to an incredible cause.

I'm so proud to share that, thanks to the generosity and support of so many wonderful people, I've raised an amazing £1,360 for cancer research.

Every donation helps fund vital research, bringing us closer to better treatments and life saving breakthroughs.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged, shared, and cheered us on. Your support means so much and has made a real difference.

As a therapist, I'm constantly reminded of the strength, resilience, and courage people show when facing life's challenges.

Today's event was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together for a cause that touches so many lives.

Thank you again for helping us make an impact. 💕🎗️

When we Repress/suppress our emotions, it fires up the nervous system, even more than expressed unpleasant ones. Since we cannot escape our consciousness, we have a relentless source of pain.

Allowing yourself to feel emotional pain is a necessary step in rerouting your brain away from it.

Once we accept that we are doing work, we can silence our internal critic that believes that feeling pain means we’re “doing something wrong.” Instead, we begin to understand that feeling our pain is important and productive.

On days like today, we can escape the Therapy room and go outside and have a gentle loop walk and talk around the river. Come and see what this might look like. ☀️ # -being

🔥 The Power of Pulling Away 🔥

Sometimes, the most powerful move isn’t pushing harder, it’s stepping back.

In this row of matches, four have burnt out, but one match has been pulled away, untouched by the fire.

It’s a simple yet powerful reminder: protecting yourself, setting boundaries, or removing yourself from destructive patterns can be the strongest action you take.

💡 Pull away from negativity. Pull away from burnout. Pull away from anything that doesn’t serve your growth.

Your energy is precious, use it wisely.

You don’t have to carry yesterday into today.

Each morning is a chance to begin again, free from old burdens. It’s okay to let go, be gentle with yourself, and step into the day with a fresh perspective. 😊

Happy Hump Day! 🌿

Midweek can feel like a mountain,or a valley depending on how the week’s been going.

I often remind my clients (and myself!) that Wednesday is a gentle checkpoint: a moment to pause, reflect, and reset.

Take a breath today. Check in with yourself. Ask:

“ What do I need right now, rest, connection, or maybe just a cup of tea?”

Even small acts of self-care can make a big difference.

Remember, progress isn’t always about leaps, it’s about the steady steps forward.

Celebrate the little wins, give yourself grace, and keep moving at your own pace. 🧡

Here’s to finishing the week with awareness, kindness, and a little joy.

Happy Hump Day! 🐪

There’s something deeply meaningful about creating a space where people can simply exhale. ❤️

I’m incredibly proud to share my new therapy office at McCabe Counselling Services, thoughtfully designed to feel warm, calming, and restorative from the moment you walk through the door.

Every detail was chosen with intention: a quiet space for reflection, healing, vulnerability, and growth. A place where you can feel safe enough to open up, feel supported through life’s challenges, and reconnect with yourself.

Behind these walls, there will be tears, breakthroughs, hard conversations, moments of courage, and healing that deserves to be held with care.

This new office is more than a beautiful space to me, it’s a reminder that you deserve support, softness, and somewhere to feel truly heard.

I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported this journey, and I can’t wait to welcome clients into this next chapter. ✨

Sunday evening does not have to be a countdown to stress. It can be a reset. A soft landing before a new beginning.

You do not need to have the entire week figured out tonight. You only need to meet Monday as you are, rested enough, grounded enough, and willing to begin again.

The week ahead is not just responsibilities, deadlines, or early alarms. It is also new conversations, small wins, moments of laughter, cups of coffee, music on the commute, quiet accomplishments, and proof that you are capable of more than your anxious thoughts predict.

Instead of asking, “What if this week is exhausting?” try asking:

“What if this week surprises me?”
“What if I handle things better than I expect?”
“What if there are good moments waiting for me too?”

A Sunday reset is not about becoming a different person by Monday morning. It is about caring for yourself enough tonight that tomorrow feels lighter.

So slow down this evening.
Clean your space a little.
Prepare something comforting.
Choose one thing to look forward to this week.
Let yourself rest without guilt.

Monday is not an enemy. It is simply another chance to continue your life, and you have already survived every difficult week before this one.

You are allowed to enter this week with calm instead of fear.

One day at a time is enough. 😊

Therapy isn’t always sitting in a room talking. Sometimes therapy looks like salty sea air, waterfalls, movement, laughter, music, connection, stillness, and the people and places that make you feel most like yourself 🤍

For me, healing lives in nature walks, beaches, boxing sessions, the gym, silent steppers, laughing with friends until my stomach hurts, and a cup of tea in my favourite place, Bamburgh.

These are the moments that ground me, regulate my nervous system, and bring me back to myself.

Therapy can be found in the little things we intentionally return to.

What is your therapy? ✨

🌿 Day 5: Mental Health Awareness Week 🌿

As we wrap up this week dedicated to mental health, today is a reminder that taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. 💛

Whether it’s talking to someone you trust, practicing mindfulness, or simply giving yourself a break, you deserve support, understanding, and self-compassion.

Let’s continue the conversation beyond this week. Check in with a friend, share a kind word, or take a moment for yourself. Every small step counts. 🧠✨

Day 4: Mental Health Awareness Week.

Taking care of your mental health is not a luxury, it’s part of taking care of your whole self.

Rest is productive. Boundaries are healthy. Asking for help is strength.

You do not have to carry everything silently.

💚 Check in with yourself today:

Have you eaten well?
Have you rested?
Have you spoken kindly to yourself?
Have you taken a moment to breathe?

Small daily actions can make a big difference over time.
