Struggling with hip pain?

Hip pain can affect everything from walking and exercise to sleep and day-to-day comfort.

At Optimus, we specialise in diagnosing and treating hip pain.

Symptoms can be caused by a range of issues including muscle strains, hip bursitis, capsulitis and osteoarthritis.

It is also common for pain around the pelvis or sacroiliac joint to be mistaken for a hip problem, so getting the right diagnosis is key.

We’ll always aim to identify the true source of your pain and recommend the right course of action.
Where needed, we can refer for x-rays or scans, particularly for severe, long-standing or traumatic injuries. Alongside this, we provide hands-on treatment, tailored exercises and practical advice to help reduce pain and get you moving more comfortably again.

Book your consultation today online via our website or drop us a message.

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain…but it doesn’t have to become a long-term problem!

If you’re feeling sharp pain in your heel when you take your first steps in the morning, or after long periods of rest, your plantar fascia may be under strain.

The good news? With the right approach, it’s very treatable.

At its core, plantar fasciitis is often linked to:
• Overload or repetitive strain
• Tight calves or limited ankle mobility
• Weakness in the foot or lower leg
• Changes in activity levels or footwear

Physiotherapy focuses on addressing the root cause, not just easing the symptoms.

Treatment may include:
• Targeted stretching (especially calves and plantar fascia)
• Strengthening exercises for foot and lower limb support
• Manual therapy to improve mobility
• Advice on footwear and load management

Ignoring it can lead to persistent pain, but early treatment makes a big difference.

If heel pain is slowing you down, it’s worth getting it assessed properly.

Your feet carry you everywhere, looking after them matters.

Tight ankles? It could be affecting more than you think.

Limited ankle mobility can lead to knee, hip, and even back issues by forcing your body to compensate.

Quick test:
Can your knee move over your toes without your heel lifting? If not, it’s worth addressing.

Improve it with:
• Calf stretching
• Ankle mobility drills
• Strength through full range

Small changes here can make a big difference to how you move and feel.

I love using dry needling because, as a physio, I can see how quickly it helps the body soften and settle.

Dry needling can be a really helpful way to ease stubborn muscle tension and give your body a chance to truly let go.

By gently releasing tight or overworked muscles, it can reduce pain, improve movement, and support the body’s natural healing process.

Used thoughtfully as part of a personalised treatment, it allows tight, irritated tissues to release, creating space for real recovery and helping patients feel more comfortable, supported, and at ease in their bodies.

If you want to learn if dry needling is suitable for you, get in touch, we are happy to help!

Another 5⭐ review for Matt at Optimus CP.

“I have had issues with my back and shoulder for almost 2 years. I went to go see Matt to see if anything could be done and it was worth every penny!! After just having one session I had already seen improvement…”

Two years of discomfort. One session. Immediate change.

This is what happens when treatment is specific, hands on, and tailored to the root cause…not just the symptoms.

Back and shoulder pain that lingers for months (or years) doesn’t have to become your “normal.”

If you’ve been putting it off, this is your sign to get it looked at.

Book in. Get assessed properly. Start moving pain free again.

One of our physio patients getting some much needed shoulder taping as part of their rehabilitation.

Kinesiology tape can help provide extra support, reduce strain on irritated tissues, and improve confidence with everyday movement or exercise.

We offer taping to all physio patients when it’s clinically appropriate, and we’ll also teach you how to apply it yourself. That way, you can stay supported and continue your progress between sessions!
