πŸ‘ŽπŸΌPain on the outside of the elbow with gripping or lifting activities or shaking hands?

It could be lateral epicondylitis or tennis elbow - not exclusively a problem for racket sports players!

Here’s how physiotherapy/injury therapy can help πŸ‘πŸΌ.
πŸ’ͺ Identify the underlying cause - we assess your movement to work out what’s causing your pain and if there are other factors involved.
πŸ“‰ Reduce pain - hands on treatment, massage, shockwave therapy, taping, acupuncture, dry needling all help to calm things down.
πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Strengthen key muscles - wrist and forearm, shoulder girdle - more support = less tendon strain.
🧘 Improve flexibility - tight surrounding musculature? We help to release and restore mobility.
πŸ§—πŸΎβ€β™€οΈGet you back to activity safely - gradual return to activity means you go back stronger and reduces the likelihood of recurrence/re-injury.
🎯 Treatment is tailored to you and your needs and we are here to help every step of the way.

πŸ‘ŽπŸΌPain on the outside of your knee with repetitive activities?

It could be Iliotibial Band Pain - an overuse injury that causes pain on the outside of the knee, especially with running, cycling or repetitive activities.

Here’s how physiotherapy/injury therapy can help πŸ‘πŸΌ.
🦡🏼Identify the underlying cause - we assess your movement to work out what’s causing your pain.
πŸ“‰ Reduce pain - hands on treatment, massage, taping, acupuncture, dry needling all help to calm things down.
πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Strengthen key muscles - glutes, legs, core - more support = less strain.
🧘 Improve flexibility - tight surrounding musculature? We help to release and restore mobility.
πŸ‘Ÿ Provide advice on appropriate footwear - the correct footwear can really help improve symptoms.
πŸƒπŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ Get you back to activity safely - gradual return to activity means you go back stronger and reduces the likelihood of recurrence/re-injury.
🎯 Treatment is tailored to you and your needs and we are here to help every step of the way.

…but the harder you try to fall asleep, the more awake you can become. This is called the law of reversed effort – when the more you force something, the less likely it is to happen. And this can be especially true of sleep! Sound familiar?

For many people, anxiety and sleep disruption go hand in hand. A busy mind at bedtime or, waking at 3am with racing thoughts is something I hear about often. The good news is, there are gentle ways to quieten the mind and invite sleep, rather than force it.

Here are a few tips you can try:

πŸŒ™ SHIFT YOUR FOCUS – instead of trying to β€œmake” yourself sleep, focus on relaxing. Say to yourself, β€œI’m just going to relax here.” This helps to reduce pressure to fall asleep and often allows sleep to arrive naturally.

πŸŒ™ THE 3–3–3 TECHNIQUE – if your mind is busy, name 3 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, and gently move 3 parts of your body. This allows you to come back into the present moment and away from anxious thoughts.

πŸŒ™ BREATHING RESET – try slow, intentional breaths: breathe in for 3, hold for 1 and breathe out for slightly longer than you breathe in. Repeat in cycles of 5. This signals to your body that it’s safe to switch into relaxation mode.

πŸŒ™ MIDDLE-OF-THE-NIGHT-WAKE-UPS – if you wake and feel wide awake, don’t lie there wrestling with your mind (or staring at your phone!) Instead, get up briefly, read something calming or stretch gently, and then return to bed when you feel sleepier.

πŸ’‘ Remember: sleep is a natural process. The more you allow it, the more likely it is to come 😴

πŸ‘‰ If you struggle with sleep and would like support from our mindset coach and wellbeing therapist, Penny, call our reception team on, 01454 838366 and book in a FREE enquiry call with Penny to understand more about how she can help you.

πŸ‘ŽπŸΌPain at the front or side of your shoulder especially with overhead activities?

It could be Subacromial Impingement Syndrome due to a Rotator Cuff issue - a common problem, especially over 40.

Here’s how physiotherapy/injury therapy can help πŸ‘πŸΌ.
πŸ’ͺ Identify the underlying cause - we assess your movement to work out what’s causing your pain.
πŸ“‰ Reduce pain - hands on treatment, massage, taping, acupuncture, dry needling all help to calm things down.
πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Strengthen key muscles - scapula stabilisers, postural muscles, shoulder girdle - more support/better posture = less strain.
🧘 Improve flexibility - tight surrounding musculature? We help to release and restore mobility.
🏊🏽 Get you back to activity safely - gradual return to activity means you go back stronger and reduces the likelihood of recurrence/re-injury.
🎯 Treatment is tailored to you and your needs and we are here to help every step of the way.
