Thornbury clinic t-shirt!

Just finished running The West Highland Way in Scotland- covered 101 miles after a couple of accidental detours which added 5 miles 😂 did it in four sections:

Day One: 28 Miles
Day Two: 19 Miles
Day Three: 27 Miles
Day Four: 28 miles

Huge hills, beautiful scenery and my body was in amazing shape with zero pains or niggles thanks to Thornbury Clinic.

How often should you get a massage?
This is a question that we get asked often! This will depend on your body and your routine, but a general guide is:

Every 4-6 weeks – Ideal for general maintenance, preventing injuries and tension building up, keeping stress levels lowered.
Every 2–3 weeks – Helpful if you're very active, training regularly for a race or event, dealing with recurring tightness or coming back from an injury.

The length of time between massages is going to vary person to person and look different for each individual. If you have any questions on what we recommend, our massage therapists are always happy to help guide you with their professional opinions on what may work best for you.

If it’s been a while since your last treatment, now could be the perfect time to book in. Book online or get in touch.

👎🏼 Pain along the inside or outside of your knee following a sudden twisting movement? Development of swelling over a few hours or days, and difficulty fully bending and/or straightening the knee?

It could be a meniscal injury - damage to the shock absorbing cartilage that sits between the shin bone and thigh bone.

Here’s how physiotherapy/injury therapy can help 👍🏼.
🦵🏼Identify if the meniscus is potentially causing the pain.
📉 Pain reduction - hands on treatment, massage, and dry needling can help to reduce pain symptoms and improve joint mobility.
🏋🏻‍♀️ Targeted exercise therapy to help restore strength and control around your knee.
🧘 Improve flexibility - tight surrounding musculature due to pain? We help to release and restore mobility.
🏃🏾‍♂️ Get you back to activity safely - activity modification to protect your knee while it heals, then a gradual return to activity means you go back stronger and reduces the likelihood of recurrence/re-injury.
🎯 Treatment is tailored to you and your needs and we are here to help every step of the way.
