Tell the ones you love, you love them! Tell them every day! When they leave your house; when you leave there's. At the end of every phone call; at the end of every text. Or maybe a whole text just to say that 💖

If they’ve done something you’re proud of; tell them! Something they’ve done that you’re grateful for; tell them! If you’re in awe of something they’ve done; tell them! If you’ve something on your heart that you want them to know; tell them.

Who do you need to tell today 😊🧡

This is me! Age 19, in my first flat. Happy memories 😊

Why am I sharing this personal photo?

I just think that therapists, or professionals who work in clinical settings can sometimes be perceived as not fun, always serious and not necessarily understanding the real world that others experience.

Well. I was a nightmare! My teenage years were nonsensical and my poor parents didn't know what to do with me! (They always loved me though, and had my back. Phew!)

So yes I'm 47 years of age now, and I don't dress in silly clothes with a pair of bananas in my mouth and two unopened beers in my hands, but I'm still that young girl in the picture! So if you are a young person, worrying that I might not "get it" or "get you", I can assure you I'll do my best to relate. And if you're an adult wondering whether I might judge you for things you want to talk about, honestly, I am 100% non-judgemental!

I often bring my sense of humour into therapy sessions, where appropriate. And I always strive to put you at ease. And most importantly, nothing is ever off limit in my therapy room. Whatever you want to bring to session, I'm all ears ❤️

This is a great way to start a Gratitude Journal!

Struggling with self esteem?
Struggling with anxiety?
Struggling to see the point?
Struggling to find joy in simple things?

I can hand on heart recommend starting a Gratitude Journal ❤

All you need is a note pad and a pen. Each day, write down all the things you feel grateful for. Some days there might be many things to feel thankful for! Other days, we might have to dig deep or think outside the box. If the sun has been shining, that might be the only thing we feel grateful for. That's ok! Get it written in your journal!

What does a Gratitude Journal do?

🌸 It shifts our perspectives. It's easy to notice the negatives. By actively looking for positives, it lifts our mood and shifts our focus.
🌸 It changes our heart and mind. Starting to notice the beauty in simple things, makes us feel happier about our life and experiences.
🌸 It gives us time out every day, to reflect and to put our thoughts into some order. Things start to make sense and we can process our daily events.

I cannot say this loud enough. A cross word, raised voiced, even a huff; it impacts these precious children of ours.

I think about times where I should have been more patient and I’d give anything to go back and redo things.

And the crazy thing is, once we deliberately hold back and choose not to react, eventually we create a new neurological pathway that means patience becomes second nature; our natural response!

🧡🧡🧡

A beautiful example of how reframing our thoughts can change our perspective and improve our mood.
