Glenholme Bispham Gardens

Bispham Gardens enjoyed the sunshine and managed to make a great start on tidying up the planters. We used the leftover flowers that we had home grown from seed for the Summer Fair. Both Gardens had a lovely big drink, so hopefully plenty more colour to come.

We had John Fernley entertaining us last week, it was a very chilled out show, he sang some lovely songs that brought back memories, he also gave a little chat about each song that he sang. He then did a lovely meet and greet with everyone. 🎤

Some pictures from the zoo trip, that we had to enable Wendy's dream come true, by feeding the Giraffes. We enjoyed seeing lots of different animals, having a picnic while watching the gorillas on gorilla island, feeding the parakeets at rainbow landing and enjoying a yummy ice cream

It is such a honour to make Wendy's dream come true, Wendy loves Giraffes they are her favourite animal, so for her up coming birthday we took her and some of her friends to Blackpool zoo and arrange for her to feed the Giraffes, this brought a happy tears to her eye as she told us this was her life's dream🦒

We had another fantastic day on our mini bus. We visited Knowsley Safari park. We drove through seeing all the animals in their own environment, we weren't brave enough to go through the monkey area but saw them from a safe distance. After going round the park we watched the sealion display and enjoyed a drink from the café. 🐒 🦁 🐮

Well done to Beth and Paige-Louise on completing their Care Certificates! They both give 110% when they are on shift at Birchwood and are always there for the people we support and their colleagues. Very well done Girls! 🌟 🙌

Cherie from Haddon House went to ASDA this morning to improve on her community and social interactions. She bought herself a book and some Disney playing cards and even handled the money herself. Well done Cherie! Here's to many more exciting shopping trips to come 🛍️🛒

Holdingham Grange's wonderful resident Tommy celebrated yet another milestone yesterday when he celebrated his 100th Birthday! Tommy had a wonderful day, with his family and friends and of course a beautiful cake made by the kitchen staff. We would like to thank everyone who made his day very special. The sun was shining on Holdingham Grange, and it was a beautiful warm day... perfect day for an ice-cream!
Residents and staff went out on the minibus to Daisy Made Farm - the home of Lincolnshire's favourite ice cream parlour. The residents were spoiled for choice when it came to choosing which flavour of ice cream to have.
A wonderful way to spend an afternoon! 🍦☀️

Blue skies and sunshine set the scene for a brilliant Summer Fayre at Holdingham Grange ☀️ With games, crafts, cake, and a sizzling BBQ, residents, families and staff enjoyed a joyful afternoon of dancing, laughter, and even a performance from Elvis! 👯‍♀️ Thanks to everyone who came along and helped raise a fantastic £920 for the Residents’ Activities Fund. 🎉

On Sunday, two residents of Haddon House used the new sensory room to watch "A Land Before Time". They both sat and watched the entire film and really enjoyed it! 🦖🦕

The wait is over — harvest time has arrived at last at the Lustrells! 🌱 There was real excitement as residents got stuck in, picking fresh courgettes, digging up homegrown potatoes, and pulling up onions straight from the soil. They're still keeping an eye on the ripening beef tomatoes and corn on the cob — not long now! Plans are already bubbling for what to cook with their hard-earned veggies, so watch this space for what they whip up next. 🥔🧅🍅

Bispham Gardens enjoyed a lovely trip this week to The World of Glass at St. Helens, where they saw glass blowing and the making of a glass swan, they looked round the museum and interacted with some of the displays, following the day with a lovely brew at the café ☕ 🦢

On the 7th of July it was World Chocolate day, so at Bispham Gardens we made chocolate fudge and Brazilian chocolate truffles, they did not come out quiet right, (very soft) but they tasted yummy and we all enjoyed getting messy eating them. 🍫

What a wonderful afternoon we had for a good cause on Saturday at Bispham Gardens, We had the opening of Kincraig Waters which coincided with our own Garden party, which raised money for cancer charity and our own residents fund. We raised a massive £1560.51 which is split between the two funds. We would like to thank all those that have supported us with donations and help on the day.
