📢 Thornton Medical Centre; Important Patient Notice – Assistance Dogs Only from 1st November

Following patient feedback, we would like to inform everyone that from 1 November, only assistance dogs will be permitted to enter the practice building.

This change helps us maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all patients — especially those with allergies, anxieties, or medical conditions.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. 🐾💙

Join us for World Mental Health Day on 10th October. We will be at Lockwood GP Surgery 10am - 12pm and then at The Village Practice 2pm - 4pm

On Wednesday afternoon, 8 October, there will be changes to our service to accommodate training for all staff.

Our phone lines will close at 1pm.

During this time the reception will be staffed and we will be seeing patients.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however this is to allow us to provide all staff training activities.

We will open as normal at 8am on Thursday 9 October

Our flu/Covid clinic will be taking place tomorrow 8am - 2pm. If you are eligible and a Village Practice patient and have not booked an appointment you are able to attend and have your vaccination.

Bad weather is predicted for tomorrow. the clinic WILL still go ahead.

If your appointment is at 8am there is no need to be standing in the rain to make sure you are there for 8am. If you are a little late you will still get seen (providing you are there for 2pm).

From 12 noon on Friday 3 October 2025, our prescription voicemail service will no longer be available. After this date, patients will not be able to order repeat prescriptions via voicemail.

We have listened carefully to patient feedback and are introducing a process to ensure everyone can continue to order prescriptions with ease without the need to leave a voicemail.

We have now started booking for our FLU and or COVID CLINIC on Saturday 4 October 8am till 2pm

Texts have started to go out today (and all will have gone by Thursday next week). You can book using the link in the text or you can call our special appointment line by calling 01253 204333 and pressing option 1 between noon and 4pm.

This clinic is open for eligible The Village Practice patients for either the flu or the covid vaccination or both.
