Gorgeous afternoon spent at the Tower headlands Blackpool at the Indian cultural festival. We were blessed got Henna art and queued for samosa which ran out just as we got to the front. Maybe next time and everything was free.

My name is Phillipa, I’ve been practicing yoga for 25 years and I’m a Registered British School of Yoga Teacher (Hatha Yoga).
Mantis Yoga is my ‘yoga hub’ and is where I share my yoga passion with others. I believe yoga should be accessible to everyone; All ages, All abilities, All shapes and sizes. In my Hatha Yoga classes you’ll feel welcomed and safe whether it is your first time on a yoga mat or if you’ve been practicing yoga for many years.
I love the physical and mental benefits that yoga practice gives me and in 2019 I decided I wanted to share this experience with others.
I trained at the British School of Yoga where I completed over 200 hours of yoga training, and was very proud to achieve the Hatha Yoga Teacher Diploma.
Yoga came into my life following a car accident 25 years ago where I sustained serious injuries. Yoga was recommended by my doctors as a way of introducing gentle but effective body strengthening exercises. I had no idea back then that Yoga would become such an important and fundamental part of my life and I’m so grateful to my doctors who put me on this amazing path.
Hatha yoga is the branch of yoga that typically comes to mind when you think of yoga in general terms. The practice involves breath, body, and mind, and classes usually involve breathing, yoga poses, and meditation.
Yoga began in India around for 2,000 years ago as a series of spiritual breathing exercises. The term Hatha was first recorded in the 11th century and gained mainstream popularity in the 1960s.
I teach classes in Thornton Cleveleys and Blackpool and am also available for one-on-one yoga classes. Enquiries are always welcome so please do get in touch if you’d like more information.
