I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.
Maybe it’s the season — October always brings that shift.
People start feeling lower, heavier… like everything suddenly asks for more energy than we actually have.

And I see it in so many of you who come to me.
Pain showing up again.
Anxiety creeping in.
That feeling of “I’m trying so hard to stay calm, but my body won’t let me.”

So where do we actually find strength when we don’t feel strong?

For me, strength isn’t about pushing through or pretending we’re fine.
It’s about listening.
Because our body — it really does talk to us.
Pain, anxiety, tension… they’re not here to punish us.
They’re trying to say, “Hey… something needs your care.”

And sometimes it’s not even physical.
We just feel it in our body.

✅️ The stomach — when we can’t “digest” what’s going on in life.
✅️The chest — when emotions are stuck and breathing feels hard.
✅️ The shoulders — when we’re carrying too much.
✅️ The jaw — when we hold back what we really want to say.
✅️The lower back — when we don’t feel supported or safe.

It’s not random.
Our body remembers every moment we didn’t have time to process.

So when you feel pain or anxiety — maybe start there.
Don’t rush to get rid of it.
Pause.
Ask your body: what are you trying to tell me?

Sometimes the answer comes as a memory, sometimes as a breath, sometimes as a quiet “I need rest.”

That’s where strength begins — not in forcing, but in softening.

So tonight, before bed, try this:
Put one hand on the place where you feel tension.
Take a slow breath.
Say quietly to yourself: “I hear you. It’s safe now.”

It sounds simple, but awareness really is where healing starts. 💚

We usually think it’s just part of being tired, busy, or focused.
But often, it’s our body’s way of whispering:
“I’ve had enough.”

For me, tension shows up in my face.
During one of my massage trainings in 2019, someone took a photo of me while I was working —
and I couldn’t believe how much I was tensing my face.
My jaw, my eyes, my forehead… everything was tight.
I looked like I was holding everything in.

That photo made me realise how much tension I carry when I focus.
Over time, it showed up as headaches, sinus pressure, even allergy flare-ups.

Once, a teacher told me:
“You seem like someone who senses too much.”
Maybe that’s true — some of us are always “on,”
reading the room, feeling what’s coming, protecting ourselves.

Our bodies hold that alertness.
But sometimes, they just need to know it’s okay to relax.

💭 We all hold tension somewhere:
✅ Jaw — words we never said.
✅ Shoulders — the weight we carry.
✅ Hips — emotions we didn’t release.
✅ Stomach — the anxiety we keep digesting.

The body remembers everything — even what the mind tries to forget.

Now, when I catch myself tightening my face, I pause.
I take a slow breath, soften my jaw, my eyes, my forehead.
It’s simple — but it’s awareness.
And little by little, I notice the difference.

So today I want to ask you:
✨ Where do you hold your tension?
✨ And what might your body be trying to protect you from?

“Tension is not weakness — it’s protection.
Awareness is how we thank the body and tell it, ‘It’s safe now.’” 🌿

That’s it for today, my friends.
Let’s meet again soon — for a little more awareness. 💚

So yesterday I started this “Time of Awareness.”
And honestly… I keep thinking — we all just want to feel good, right?
Healthy, calm, strong — both in our body and mind.
But then… life happens.
Work, family, pressure, too much on our plates.
And before we even notice, there’s stress, tension, pain… sometimes even an injury.

And I always wonder — why?
Why do we have to go through all that?
Why can’t life just flow smoothly?

I still remember back in 2009 — I was completely fine.
Healthy, full of energy, not really sure where my life was going, but it was okay.
And then one day — boom. Shoulder pain.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know that story.
At first, I thought, “Oh no, this is bad.”
But now I see that pain was actually the beginning of everything that brought me here —
to massage, to awareness, to helping women reconnect with their bodies and their breath.

So I’m starting to believe that maybe stress, pain, or tension show up for a reason.
Maybe they’re not there to punish us…
❤️Maybe they’re trying to guide us.
To stop us for a moment.
To make us listen.
To show us a new direction we wouldn’t see otherwise.

Have you ever had something like that?
Something that felt so unfair, painful, or heavy at the time —
but later, when you looked back, you realised it actually helped you?
Maybe it made you slow down, look at your life differently, or choose a path you’d never have considered before.

That’s what I’d like to leave you with today.....a question to ask yourself:

💭 “When did I feel mental, physical, or emotional pain… and where did it lead me?”

🌿 “Sometimes awareness begins with discomfort.
It’s the body and mind showing you the way home.” 🌿

That’s it for today, my friends.
Let’s meet again tomorrow — for a little more awareness. 💚

...of something I’ve been feeling for a long time.

After years of working with women — guiding them through massage, breath, and awareness — I’ve realised that what we all truly need is time.
Time to pause.
Time to listen.
Time to become aware.

So this is it — a time to get aware.
To notice what’s really happening inside us — mentally, physically, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually.

It’s not just about tension in the body or stress in the mind.
It’s about learning why we hold it, why we carry it, and how we can finally let it go. 🌿

This page is my offering — a safe, calm space for women who are ready to breathe deeper, to understand themselves, and to live with awareness.

If you’ve found your way here, maybe you’re ready too.
Or maybe, like many women I meet, you’re just beginning to feel that quiet pull inside — the one that says, “It’s time.”

Let’s begin this journey together.
Let’s make this the time of awareness — the time you return to yourself. 💚

A client said to me recently:
“You can massage my face today like before. I stopped with botox. My face just looks… weird.”

She thought botox would make her look fresher. But instead, the tension in her jaw, the puffiness in her cheeks, and the tightness behind her eyes were still there.

✨ Here’s the truth most women don’t get told:
If the inside isn’t working well, the outside will always show it.

When your lymphatic system is sluggish, when your face is puffy from fluid retention, or when stress is etched into your jaw and forehead—no injection can undo that.
Sometimes, “freezing” the muscles can even stop your body from working as it naturally should, speeding up aging instead of slowing it down.

So why does massage feel different?
Because it works with your body, not against it.
🌿 It boosts circulation so your skin glows naturally.
🌿 It supports lymphatic drainage to ease puffiness and fluid build-up.
🌿 It releases jaw, neck, and shoulder tension that literally drags the face down.
🌿 It calms your nervous system so your whole expression softens.

💡 Tip from me: Next time you catch yourself thinking you look “tired” or “older,” ask—is this really my skin, or is it the stress and tension underneath? Release the inside, and the outside will shift too.

If you’re local to Timperley, book my Signature Massage and give your body the chance to glow from the inside out.
If not, I hope you find a therapist you trust—because this is the kindest, most natural anti-aging there is.

With care,
Marika

So many women who come to me say the same thing:
"I always had this pain, but I was able to manage… until now."

Often, they’re in their 50s when they finally walk through my door. But by then, the pain isn’t simple anymore. It’s layered, chronic, and in some cases—too late for massage to truly help.

Think of it like a toothache.
In your 40s, you can ignore it, take a tablet, manage it. But keep ignoring it, and by your 50s you’re not just dealing with a toothache—you’re at the dentist facing a root canal.

The same happens in the body. A tense muscle left untreated keeps building up. Over time, it can start pressing on nerves, and when nerve damage sets in, no massage therapist can undo that—you’re looking at medical specialists, even surgery.

🌿 Tip from me: Don’t wait until your pain is unmanageable. Notice the small signs your body gives you now—tight shoulders, morning stiffness, headaches that keep coming back. That’s the time to act.

✨ If you’re local to Timperley, come see me for my Signature Massage and let’s deal with the tension before it turns into something bigger.
✨ If you’re not nearby, please don’t wait for “too late.” Find someone who can help you now—your future self will thank you.

With care,
Marika

Have you ever come back from holiday only to feel more stressed and achy than before you left?

💬"I thought a week away would take the stress and pain away… but I came back feeling worse."

That’s what I’ve been hearing again and again in my clinic the past few weeks.

✅️Here’s the truth: a holiday is a lovely break, but it doesn’t take away the patterns your body is stuck in.

Stress you’ve been holding for months doesn’t vanish after a few days in the sun.
The tension you carry in your shoulders, back, or neck doesn’t just dissolve when you lie on a beach. Often, once you slow down, your body finally has space to show you what’s really been building up.

🌿 Tip from me: Notice what your body is telling you now. Do your shoulders rise the moment you open your laptop? Do you clench your jaw when you think about work? Awareness is the first step to breaking the cycle.

And if the tension feels too much to handle alone…
✨ If you’re local to Timperley, come see me for my Signature Massage. That’s where we release the stress, pain and tension your holiday couldn’t touch.
✨ If you’re not nearby, I hope you find a therapist who can help you, because your body deserves more than waiting for the “next holiday” to feel better.
