Whole body nourishment is the theme for our new class starting next week. Take time to listen and connect and really indulge in what feels good in your body. So let's begin the new year with kindness and generosity with a practice to support enlivening ourselves and unravelling tension and sedentariness. Warm wishes to you all!

This Friday, is our MOVE TOWARDS STILLNESS AND DEEP REST practice as we head towards the Winter Solstice.

We will begin with a Qigong inspired movement practice to get us energised and connected, and to help create the shifts to enable the move towards stillness and deep rest. The sequence will integrate movements with poetic names such as 'Wise Owl turns its head to eliminate the five fatigues and seven illnesses' and 'Gaze at the Moon.' These slow and meditative movements have evolved over centuries to improve health and calm the mind.

Then I'm offering some breath work and self-massage as part of our restorative practice, to help soothe the nervous system and support you to rest and find ease. There will be some restorative poses (using lots of props to be really comfortable) before a guided mediation practice.

Come and offer yourself some deep nourishment - space at 11am in person - and online. DM for info/to book.

HOLIDAY/TERM DATES - last class of the year -15/12 - - and classes start again on Friday 12 January , 2024.

WAKE UP & ENERGISE
At this darkening time of year it can be helpful to have some particularly energising movement practices. We’ll begin with some energising standing Qi-gong before moving into a hip-strength focused flow. And to support the development of integrated strength we’re continuing with ‘tigers’ and adding some ’dead bugs’ too.

Classes always include a guided relaxation- this month our restorative practice is a supported bound angle pose. We’ll use lots of props to get set up for maximum comfort and relaxation. I’ll be sharing how to use a ‘blanket swaddle’ to help to promote the quietening and feeling of containment/feeling held.

Last week of our INTEGRATED STRENGTH sequence this week- join us exploring ways of activating integrated strength….We’ll be continuing with a mix of different movements ranging from crawling ‘tigers’ and ‘rocking boat’ to help build coordination and power.

FIND EASE & RELAXATION:
Our theme this month is connecting with our bodies and creating release and ease in hips and lower backs, whilst also mobilising core strength.

Yoga from the Inside classes offer a multi-dimensional ‘bodyful’ movement practice, breath work and guided relaxation. Students are invited to listen to their own bodies and explore with curiosity. The practice focuses on how it feels, not what it looks like.

Small, friendly classes on Friday mornings – 9am and 11am- (75 mins) online (via Zoom) and in-person in our peaceful space in Timsbury.
