I saw this poem recently and loved it - I thought it would be good to share on International Women’s Day because of how tenacious and resilient I think that women have to be to hold onto the essence of themselves in a world that demands so much of them and where we are presented with an image of beauty that is so damaging at times. I would rather be a strong and tenacious w**d thank you very much and be true to myself.

It feels like the torrential rain that we have had recently is somehow symbolic of these times as we move from the shedding energy of the Year of the Snake - as if that rain is somehow washing away all that is no longer needed. It’s annoying and devastating in some areas particularly along the coastline where I have been so sad to see the destruction. These aren’t easy times. Growth never is. Yet I’ve got this deep inner awareness of how important this time is right now. It’s like an expectant pause or a long deep breath before the joy of the exhale and release. It’s a call to the inner fire within us all and the awakening. It’s frightening and bold but it’s happening and the release must come before we can welcome in whatever comes next.

Imbolc blessings from my home to yours. I left my scarf out yesterday evening as an offering to Brigid and enjoyed wearing it today once it had dried off from the overnight showers! It feels like Spring is starting to gently awaken and I am enjoying the return of the light. I am going to light a candle later and celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year.

The Full Snow Moon in February tonight invites us to pause and reflect on what is stirring beneath the earth and will start to rise up when the days begin to lengthen and warm up. It’s not a time for rushing though and we are still being called to allow a gentle awakening. Enjoy this beautiful Full Moon.
