The secret to a good fast & a good diet is often... fibre! Did you know we need fibre to:
- strengthen our digestive tract
- cleanse our mucoid plaque
- cleanse wastes, toxins & pathogens (autophagy)
- slow down the release of sugars into blood.
- feed our healthy microbiome
- create good bowel movements
- support us to feel full and satiated
- Fibre also requires hydration, water, as do we!
FASTING & FIBRE:
- Fibre and hydration help us move from normal digestion mode into fasting mode.
- We can fast with water or diluted detox juices. Best avoid full juices, they have no fibre and are high in sugar/spike blood sugar levels.
- While fasting its important to always have sufficient water (2 cups) with fibre intake.
- Fresh fruits & veg have fibre which will naturally slow down the release of natural sugars. However, when you juice the fibre is removed, that's why it's important to add psyllium!
