IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - & ISLE OF - Adult dental services have been temporarily suspended at Lorn and Isle Hospital's Public Dental Service Clinic and Tobermory.

Mull and Oban Public Dental Service clinics are currently facing staffing constraints, as a result of which routine care for adult patients has been temporarily suspended. However, emergency care services will continue to be provided, and routine care, which includes check-ups, for registered children will still be maintained on the Isle of Mull.

Oban's Special Care Programme, which includes those with referred to the Public Dental Service with an additional care need, has limited capacity to accommodate patients who are referred to it. All referrals will be assessed centrally and prioritised based on each case. Patients will be assigned an appointment at the nearest available dental clinic.

We will be reviewing the situation regularly to ensure that routine adult dental care services are resumed as soon as possible. All relevant stakeholders will be updated promptly regarding the resumption of the service.

For emergency dental care across Argyll and Bute, patients can contact the Dental Helpline at 08458 332 310 Monday through Thursday from 0845 to 1630, and on Friday from 0845 to 1600. Outside of these times, patients can call NHS24 on 111.

Think carefully before going to A&E - If your condition isnโ€™t life-threatening, you should call NHS 24 on 111, day or night to access the right care. Or contact your GP practice as normal during the day. If itโ€™s an emergency you should still call 999 or go straight to A&E.
