Glenis Farrar, nee Higson

After a short illness, Glenis passed away on 7th January 2026. The dearly loved wife of Peter and the much loved mum of Sarah, loving sister to Michael, also the late Russell, Gary and Michelle..she will be sadly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday 21st January at Burnley Crematorium at 10.45am.
Family flowers only please, any donations are welcome to Pendleside Hospice. A donation box will be near the door as you leave the chapel

Tomorrow, (Sunday 2nd November) at St Mary’s Church, Todmorden, an All Souls’ Service will take place at 6pm.

It’s a lovely service, where the names of the recently departed are read out, and a candle will be lit in their memory.

Funeral Announcement

BRIAN HOWLEY

Brian sadly passed away on 29th August, aged 90 years. The dearly loved husband of Beryl, he will be very much missed by all his family and friends.

A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Tuesday 16th September at St Mary’s Church, Todmorden at 1pm, followed by committal at Burnley Crematorium at 2.30pm.

Donations in Brian’s memory will benefit the Cardiology Department at Calderdale Royal Hospital where Brian received amazing care.

Let’s turn Todmorden pink to raise aweness of cancer! I’ll be dressing our windows, lots of business premises are doing so too.

Cancer touches the lives of so many people, it’s a truly horrible thing that happens so many people, young and old.

So although a few balloons and banners aren’t going to rid the world of cancer let’s just do what we can.

Todmorden Cancer Research Group are an active group who raise money to help people in the local area, a worthwhile cause and every single penny is used to benefit our community.

Barbara Ellison

Barbara passed away, peacefully, on 23rd November 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Laurie, loving mum to Lorraine, Nigel and the late Trisha and a much loved Gran, Gran-Gran and Great Gran-Gran. She will be very sadly missed.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Friday 13th December at St Mary’s Church, Todmorden at 1pm followed by committal at Burnley Crematorium.

No flowers please, but donations are welcome to Stroke Association and British Heart Foundation.

I’ve had my inspection from the council today…..really nice council officer who took loads of notes and was interested in what I offer as an independent funeral service. As he left he said ’ Excellent, one of the best in Calderdale’ That’ll do for me, I’ll sleep tonight…

Brian passed away peacefully on 27th August 2024 at Waterside Lodge. He will be remembered by many as the art teacher at Todmorden Grammar School.
