❤️ Ask Ben - Let’s Talk Supporting Healthy Cholesterol Levels
The standard dietary advice is avoiding or reducing consumption of bad fatty foods such a meat, dairy, palm and coconut oil, as well as processed foods, alcohol and smoking. Adding in foods such as fibrous vegetables, fruit, nuts, wholegrains and olive oil, along with regular exercise can all go towards maintaining healthy chlesterol levels.
In terms of additional natural support, there are a few options to consider :
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) contributes to the normal function of the heart and has been shown in numerous studies to help increase good cholesteraol and lower the bad cholesterol.
Additionally other B vitamins such as B6, B12 and B9 (Folate) support cardiovascular function.
Therefore the Viridian High B one would be a good suppliment to provide high levels of B1 as well as good levels of the other B vitamins.
Lesterol is a combination of plant sterols and allicin (garlic), which help cardiovascular function, in capsule form. Sterols and stanols are plant compounds that are a similar structure to cholesterol and in turn reduce cholesterol absorpsion from the gut.
Natures Aid Cholesterol Support is a powder rich in pine derived plant sterols plus vitamin B1 and Inulin, a dietary fibre.
Red Yeast Rice, available in capsules, contains naturally occuring monocolin K, chemically similair to certain statins.
Policosanol capsules, which is naturally derived from sugar cane has shown potential for increasing the good cholesterol and lowering the bad cholesterol.
The choice depends on your own circumstances, daily routines and other suppliments/medication you already take. Have a chat with your health provider.
