💙 A Truly Heart‑Warming Gesture at Woodland View Lodge 💙

We’d love to share a special moment that perfectly captures the kindness within our community. When one of our team members shared the happy news that a relative was expecting a baby, our lovely resident Marlene didn’t hesitate to help.

In just two weeks, Marlene lovingly knitted a beautiful baby cardigan, ready just in time for the birth and we think you’ll agree, she’s done an absolutely wonderful job 🧶✨

Thank you, Marlene, for such a thoughtful and generous act. Moments like these truly make Woodland View Lodge feel like home 💕

🎉 Double celebration at Woodland View Lodge! 🎉

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of fun and remembrance as we marked VE Day, followed by a special evening in our cinema this evening streaming 100 Years of Sir David Attenborough. 🌍🎬

A truly memorable day filled with celebration, reflection, and inspiration.

🍰 Sweet Moments at Woodland View Lodge 🍰

Our residents absolutely love seeing our Head Chef, Robin, especially when he’s bringing out delicious cakes for afternoon tea!

Robin always makes time for our residents, taking the opportunity to listen to their feedback and going that extra mile to try and make every meal special. He understands that for many, mealtimes can be the highlight of the day, and he takes great pride in making them enjoyable.

From nutritious, home‑cooked meals to the occasional sweet treat, Robin ensures our residents are well looked after and well fed, with plenty of smiles along the way 😊

Sadly we say goodbye (for now) to one of our wonderful care team members, Vicky, as she takes some well‑earned time out to rest and enjoy precious moments with her family and friends. 💖

🧶 Arts & Crafts Fun at Woodland View Lodge 🧶🎨

Our residents had a wonderful time enjoying an arts & crafts session with the lovely Debs recently! This session was all about learning to weave, and everyone got stuck in with enthusiasm and creativity.

There were some fantastic efforts on display, a great job by all involved! We’re so proud of our residents for trying something new and having fun together. 🌟👏

Meet Hazel, our General Manager at Woodland View Lodge 👋

For those who haven’t yet had the chance to pop in and meet Hazel, here’s a little bit about her. Hazel is a Registered Nurse with a degree in Health Service Management and brings over 40 years of experience across both private and NHS healthcare settings, including working in international roles.

When Hazel isn’t at work, you’ll find her enjoying yoga, gardening, tackling house renovation projects, or spending quality time with her husband and two grown‑up sons 🌿🧘‍♀️

Hazel loves welcoming new faces to Woodland View Lodge, so please feel free to pop in for a coffee and a chat ☕💬 she’d love to meet you!

🎶 Music at Woodland View Lodge 🎸

Music is very much enjoyed here at Woodland View Lodge, and recently we were delighted to welcome a talented local guitarist who entertained our residents. It was a truly lovely morning, filled with familiar tunes, smiles, and plenty of toe‑tapping along the way. 🎵😊

Moments like these bring so much joy and warmth to our home, and it was wonderful to see everyone singing along and reminiscing. A big thank you to our lovely visitor for making the day so special! 💙

Alex, one of our care team members, is wonderful at helping new residents settle into their new home. Taking time for a one‑to‑one game of Scrabble, Alex creates a calm and welcoming moment that really makes a difference. This individual time is so important in helping residents feel more relaxed, valued, and at home from the very start.

💜 It was a real pleasure to welcome Gina Awad BEM to Woodland View Lodge this week.

Gina is a well‑respected local Dementia Consultant & Advocate, as well as an Independent Life Celebrant, and it was truly lovely to spend time with such an inspiring lady with many strings to her bow.

We’re really looking forward to working with Gina and excited to be planning some informative and engaging events for our community later on in the year. Watch this space for more details!
